For starters, it isn't CFRP.

I did not know that. It's a pure carbon weave? How does that compare to other M carbon roofs - are they all non plastic infused?

It's CFC (Carbon-Carbon) and the only M road car to have it; quite the expensive piece. Only other 2 "known" M that use CFC are the M8 GT and M2 CS Racing.

Kinda makes ya wonder...

Wow. I'd assumed it was reinforced plastic. Is there any official confirmation of that? Makes me appreciate it even more now 👍🏽
