When was it driven last? Battery tender if stored?

Maybe you can do the break in service early? I hope it's just the battery.

I'm not sure it's the battery if the engine is running fine, and essentially having a system voltage over 14V.

If they're caused by a battery voltage issue, the system/dash doesn't clear the faults till you turn off the ignition (wait a minute for the shutdown), and turn the car back on again.
Some faults will still show and need to be cleared via OBD.

Rodents chewing on wires? I know this is not something we want to deal with but possible.

Hopefully just a drained battery op

Loose fuse(s).

I learned that my ODBII scanner does not scan this car, but on a hunch I dug out the fuse diagram with the intention of checking for a blown fuse, however a cursory check revealed that a few of the fuses did not appear to be 100% seated, so I pushed all of them in and most of the errors went away on the next start. The CEL took a bit longer but it too cleared.

This is good news for me because I was dreading the visit to our local dealer. BMW of Denver is a terrible dealership and the one down south is even worse. Gephardt up in Boulder, while not great, is where I have had the best experience and intend to take the car for servicing.

Did you try to hook up your code reader again after fixing the fuses? I would expect that any reader should be capable of communicating with the ECU, even if it is not able to read BMW specific codes.
