They're, frankly, a terrible option.
1. Weight: The 437M on our F87's are 21.9 and 22.5 pounds each, Front and Rear. The 220M is 23.6 and 25 pounds each. So you are adding unsprung weight. 2. Size: The 437M is 19x9 and 19x10. The 220M is 19x8.5 and 19x9.5. So you will have reduced cornering grip. 3. Fitment: You lose 6MM to inset on the front moving to the 220M and gain 13MM on the rear. So your fronts will look sucked into the wheel well without spacers, and your rears will be spaced out very far (remember that many of us run +12MM spacers in the front and +10MM in the rear for aggressive fitment) so you're now poking 3MM more than aggressive fitment in the rear, on a skinnier tire, and the front will need to be put on AT LEAST an 18MM spacer to match the rears, more likely a 21. You'll be slinging a lot of rocks at your quarter panels with that space. 4. Aesthetics: this wheel just doesn't match the car. It would be like putting the Alpina 20 spoke wheels on an M2. The wheels themselves are fine, even cool on the right application, but would look absurd unless you were going for a VIP M2, and I don't think anyone here is going for that look. |

I'm not sure what I was thinking that day. I like the look of the 220m (maybe because I love the e92 m3), but yeah, terrible idea lol. Thanks for your input! |

Best option is also buy an E92 M3 with the 220M’s.
I always find the wheel weight obsession funny, people really blow it out of proportion. I just bought a set of 788M’s to replace my 437’s which from what I read on here is sac religious. I just like them better haha. |

100% agree. Just go with the design you like. The wheels on my car are 4-5 lbs lighter than the 788M wheel per wheel. The difference? Pretty much zero.

220M front ET is 29mm, so the centerline of the front tire will not change; however, as mentioned the width is 0.5" less (so wheel front spacing and back spacing will shrink by 0.25" equally).
The rear is ET23, so the centerline of the tire is 17mm toward the outside compared to stock ET40. Even with the 9.5", 0.5" less, wheel width, this will likely rub. I've had my mint condition 220Ms stored for a number of years since buying EC-7s in 9.5/10.5 x 19 for the M3.
