Glass America came out this morning to replace my windshield. The installer has been doing glass for about 15 years and told me explicitly that they wouldnt just send anyone out to work on my car. They recognized it was just not another Honda, and sent one of their best techs out.

I'm curious, did they cut out the old moulding around the glass frame from first windshield and glue it on the new one, or did they use a new moulding?

They used new moulding. The installer even said offhand he wasn't sure why they did not install the moulding at the factory. A machine could likely do a much better job of applying it correctly than any human could.

That being said, he did a great job. I closely inspected it and could not tell anything had even been replaced.

That was litmus test for if they did a good job and Allstate even paid for the KAFAS camera calibration, so I agree with you.. Glad it worked out.. 👍🏻

For reference, here is the old windshield markings. (closeup photo). and the new windshield markings. Being that they are identical, I'd say this is definitely factory glass.
