When will dealers learn about allocations this month?

My order (or at least my build date) is in limbo while the dealer is waiting to get their January allocation update.

I thought they said they would get the info the "1st or second week of the year" but then it moved to "by the end of this week."

Has anyone else had an issue like this?

I just told my dealer last week I was fully committed to an allocation and I believe she said that they would be distributed this week. She didn't seem that worried about getting one, though that hasn't made me less nervous.

I was told on Friday(15th) by my CA they would have allocation dropping by the 20th(yesterday) but I still haven't received an email yet.

Thanks - I'm trying not to be THAT guy and calling the dealer for the 3rd week in a row, but the radio silence is killing me.

Did allocations actually go out last week? My CA only asked when I preferred my car to come in and I said April to which she replied that I'd need an allocation from a future allotment. That being said, I've seen ppl here mention they have scheduled deliveries for June, so I'm unsure of the whole process here. I just don't want to end up with nothing. It wasn't easy getting the wife on board with this.

Don't know about other dealers. I didn't get an allocation

That's disappointing and makes me nervous. I hope I'm not putting too much faith in my CA to deliver.

Allocations dropped but it wasn't the amount they thought would drop. I don't know if that means all dealers got less then normal, or if some dealers got less and some got none.

This is killing me. The number of times I have had both the financial means and the wifely endorsement to buy my dream car can be counted on one hand.

If your local dealer can't get you an allocation this month I'd look around for another dealer. You have the deal in hand. Start reaching out to other dealers and tell them if they can match and submit the allocation you'll put deposit down today.

As for the wife, I would be a bit vague. As far as she's concerned the car will arrive at some point in the future once BMW gets it over here. Hard to say exactly when that happens with covid etc. She doesn't need to worry about the details.

Let us know once you get it officially ordered!
