I've been stuck the "production queue" for nearly 6 weeks. I'm wondering if others with build #'s are seeing any progress?

Mine is one stage before- scheduled for production, but I've been there for 5 weeks and no production date in sight. I ordered April 13th, when did you order? Genius told me mid June for production, a full month later than my dealer told me

Did you call your dealer for info? I've seen a couple of people's orders go through the process and get to the ship in that time. But I definitely know my car isn't on the timeframe I was told originally

The online status page is notoriously inaccurate.

Call your sales rep and find the production status.

I feel your pain. I ordered on April 1 and sat in production queue until late last week when I moved to production started. My original build date, per BMW genius line, was May 11, then it moved to May 18 and now they say May 20.

My next challenge is trying to get a slot for PCD which I’m told is all backed up and could add up to two months waiting time. I’ve done M Track Days so maybe I will skip the delivery center to get it faster.

I scheduled my PCD shortly after my car left port a few weeks ago, and it seems to add about 3 weeks to delivery time. Car should arrive at port of Charleston on May 21st, and I'll take delivery in June 22. I figured at least a week of that will be processing/intaking the car, installing the m-performance parts, and transporting to Spartanburg.

Do you have a VIN yet?
That's progress of a sort. Otherwise as others have said, don't trust the website to be totally up to date. Ring the genius line Monday morning and ask them for the actual status code and the build completion date.

The former will be the real time state of your car and the latter, well ya that will still be an estimate.
I've been in the production begins state for a bit over a week and have had my estimate completion time float back and forth a week, quite a few times already.

That’s great news on timing! I can wait a few weeks for certain. Thanks for posting that info.

Hmm, very interesting info on some of the production delays. I'm in the "scheduled for production but no production date" stage. My salesperson said my allocation is slated for a week 22 build, but wondering if that might get pushed as well.

I still haven't told my wife I bought the car so maybe a few extra weeks will help me out

Mine was supposed to be built last week but, it was not, so we'll see what happens now. Im also in "Production Begins" and at least have a VIN, but frustrating to hear week 19, then have it go by with no progress.

I have both a VIN and production number. I did speak with my dealer. they said "chip" shortage was affecting / slowing production...but assured me that the build will happen.

So with that I checked again this morning and SURPRISE!!! There's progress. Body and paint are complete and its entered the assembly line!!!

What was your build week?

I don't know about a "build week". I know when I ordered... 5 March. Stayed in 112 Status until until 20 April then showed in the production queue until 16 May.

So for me at least things are moving forward but it took 9 weeks for it to move from ordered to being produced.

BMW Customer Relations or your CA should be able to provide the build week.

I ordered mine on April 30th and BMW told me a build week of 22

Its moving along fast now. In the past 24 hours its gone from assembly in progress to quality check status.

Ordered mine May 1, same, week 22 production. So...2 weeks from now?
Got the Production number the very same day and lost 8 years of life since then

I ordered in the beginning of April for production week 20, which according to BMW genius starts tomorrow Tuesday May 18th.

Are the M2s affected by the chip shortage like other manufactures?

Unrelated, but neat story....I ordered an X5M 9 Jan 21 (or real close to it) and got it less than 3 weeks later. Different factory, but I thought that seemed really fast. In September 2017, it took 4 months got take delivery of our F33 when we ordered it.
