I'm in exactly the same boat, even down to the M2C spec and PPF. I keep looking at pics of the BSM M2 CS and how awesome it looks and you know...YOLO.

It's a daily battle to convince myself to stick with the M2C.

I keep wondering if there's something else around the 80k mark new that I'd want to pick up. Nada.

Delivery is boring, taking the car to get a take out .... no matter how far the restaurant is, is def another good reason to take the m2c for a drive

For anyone considering getting rid of they M2C, just do yourself a favor. Go get in and drive it when you think you want to sell it. I've owned countless cars and I can honestly say this car checks so many boxes and is the jack of all trades and master of none. Which is fine by me. For that reason alone it will be difficult to find another car matching the flexibility of the M2C with power and performance to boot. Seriously you could get a Benz, Audi, Infiniti, Lexus, etc., but nothing in this price point will provide the flexible use case, performance, styling, and power from the factory like the M2C. It's just that good! All this plus a MT offering for $60K.

Powerful and playful. It sounds short but not easy to find.

Absolutely. This car excites me before I even get in it. I crave to get in it. So playful and fun. I suppose if people don't feel that way then go ahead and sell it. But I wonder why one bought it in the first place?

I love this car an unhealthy amount and hope to drive it until the crank hub spins on me. It makes me look forward to my commute every day. When I'm not driving it, I'll sometimes watch old video reviews. It's a little weird.

It really does check all the boxes for me. It's a perfect daily driver. The passive damping is tolerable to me. It looks incredible. I can pick up groceries and actually fit them in the trunk. The seats are comfortable and I can fit both kids easily in car seats in the back. And of course - I can row my own gears!

Like any enthusiast I've ogled plenty of other cars from afar. To name a few - C63 AMG, Quadrifoglio, 718 GTS, RS6 Avant. All great cars but each lacking in at least some aspect.

I briefly considered the CS but it truthfully just has a bunch of add-ons that I don't really want or need.

So yeah - I'm keeping it until it gives up the ghost

Haha. First world problems.

I hear ya man. It's the worst financial decision of a lifetime that is still somehow justified.

The CS is definitely a beautiful version of the M2. But for me owning limited edition cars creates too much anxiety worrying about rarity of part etc. I just want to drive cars and not have them just sitting in the garage. So the M2C for this reason makes complete sense.

I'm keeping my car for as long as I'm allowed to drive it.

I've put a bunch of work in to the stereo and am about to make the engine sound just as good with an EL midpipe and other bits.

I've got a CBC plate to go on and I'm just goin to keep sending it on Stage 1.

This is the best compromise between sporty and daily that exists in this price range, IMO.

The CS is not rare. It's an M2C with full on S55 engine tune, and CF bits and other parts widely available. Nothing more.

I get what you are saying but the CS still represents the peak car of an era for me. The M2C will keep its value better just because its much less expensive to start with. For the enthusiast, get an M2C, add suspension, exhaust, 763M +cups tires, and sure, you are at 99% of an M2 CS.... but I still believe the M2 CS is more special of a car in the end.

I disagree. The CS is rare given its numbers. Only 2200 made from what I hear and given production ends on this platform, it will remain the pinnacle car of the M2 variants. It will also hold its value much better than the M2C over time.

Don't get me wrong the M2C is the sweet spot for sure given the price and close performance to the CS but let's be honest and say it would be an expensive venture to even match the options of the CS on a M2C: CF roof, hood, etc.

Even then certain CS aspects are difficult to attain on a 2021 M2C for sure: CS map tune due to locked DME software, ceramic brakes, lighter seat construction, and adjustable suspension.

Ok for these reasons it may be rare, but I was responding to your line about "But for me owning limited edition cars creates too much anxiety worrying about rarity of part etc.".

There will be no rarity in parts

True. You maybe able to get the CF parts and the others given use on M3/M4 F80 platforms. It would be interesting to know how many parts are not available to cars like the 1M, CSL, etc? I currently own a S2000 CR which is 1 of 699 built and a garage Queen. Several parts are now unavailable given production stopped in 2009 for the S2000. It was probably about four years after production stopped when certain parts became completely unavailable.

Guess time will tell on the M2C/CS as well.

Certainly, but many parts are shared across the M2/M2C/M2CS/M3/M4, and the M2 is built on the 2 series platform. Plenty of volume to support parts for years to come. I guess my point is, that it shouldn't be much harder than any other BMW M car of the past (maybe not the 1M).
