ISTA says updates needed

All,

I finally figured out how to get ISTA+ working for my 2021 M2C with programming capability. I was planning on just marking it for oil change service. When it does it's diagnositics it found a couple of modules that it wants to update. I believe one of them is the HU-H which I think is the headunit.

I had the dealer do the final oil change and they didn't bother with the updates. I'm not surprised. When I told the dealer I had the evaporator ice over a couple of times, they wouldn't even update the lower evaporator temperature which has an active service bulletin.

What do you think the risk is of allowing ista to do the software updates?

Edit.. It looks like it's only the HU-H (headunit) module that needs an update. That seems harmless.. right?? Maybe just the map updates?

Not to hijack the thread, but this is the first I've heard about the service bulletin regarding evaporator ice over. Would you be able to share the bulletin # and/or other info regarding that bulletin? Had my evaporator ice over a few times as well in the summer and A/C performance is greatly reduced when it happens.

You can see my post here

Essentially in hot and humid environments the evaporator can freeze over. It sounds like the fan is on, but the vents are all closed. There is a spacer for the temperature sensor that can be installed and also a software change that increases the minimum evaporator temperature.

I argued with the dealer, but they refused to do it for me.
