48 monts Maintenance contract

Hi ,

Was just wondering if this is worth it paying $1900.00 for four years an 48k miles? Not going to track the car and I know oil, sparkplugs etc. are covered
for 36 months. Would this cover pads and rotors? I can imagine changing front brakes will cost almost 2k. Thank you

The brakes are still separate now per the new warranty policy that started last year. Additional $700 for our cars.

Not worth it to me...they won't pay for brakes/tires if you drive like a madman doing burnouts or if they consider it excessive.

Tires will last at least 24k miles unless you drive like a maniac or you are tracking the car.

If you upgrade to the 4yr 50k then yes brake pads rotors and wiper blades are now covered.

It's $2,049 here in the US for the extra 1 year and up to 50k miles. I'd say do the 5 year up to 75k plan as it's $3,049 and then it'll at least guarantee you're doing the brake rotors/pads and spark plugs because then it's easily worth the 3k price...I'm in Finance for BMW and the 4yr/50k MP program has $600 profit and the 5/75k has $740 in profit.

If you plan on doing 10-15k per year on a M car then definitely buy it...that is unless you want aftermarket brakes and plugs and do the work your self after FW has expire...

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I doubt I will drive more than 5-7k a year so maybe not worth it?

I just got mine M2C last week and if I didn't have an e39 M5 and a truck I'd probably buy it but because of that I didn't. I also work for a BMW dealership and they do everything just above cost for me.

Now as an outside consumer just tell them you'll pay $100 above cost for whichever program you want and then you'll buy it. Get those flight points on your CC. Trust me the Finance manager will sell it to you to maintain their products sold per deal lol

Let me know if you need help!

I pick up mine on Saturday and I will try this. I normally NEVER buy extended warranties or service contracts, but $2300 for 5yrs/75K I would.

I'll let you know.....

Its very confusing. On the top of first page says 48 months and 50K miles, than on the second page 36 months and 36k Milles and than under small print says. This contract extends 48 months and 50K to 72 months and 100K ?

You get 3/36k which includes oil changes, brakes fluid change, spark plugs, etc included with the vehicle..

For the $2,050, they extended the same coverage to 4 years, 50k miles but it then includes much more such as brake pads, rotors, clutch disc, etc..

The price goes up a $1,000 for each addition year or 12k miles you choose to opt for.

It's not worth it if you're will to change your own brakes pads and rotors, as that's really the crown jewel the extended plan..

ok I got that! But why in the middle of the page says this agreement extends the standard 48 months 50k miles to 72 months and 100k miles

They're illustrating that in increments per year (1 year, 12k) you can extend it up to 72 months or 125k miles.

Nothing really needs maintenance in these vehicles; maybe an oil change and some brake pads here and there, every few years.. OEM spark plugs cost $100 on eBay, etc..

I had it on 3 other BMWs including a Mini when the 4/50k was included with the vehicle (pre MY 2016). Yes, they did change the oil and pads but if I was charged for the extra coverage, I would of passed and pay out of pocket for such items.

If you didn't post this I was just about too. It truly depends on how you'll drive your car, how many miles per year, and how long you plan on owning it and if you'd rather pay out of pocket for things to be changed out.

If you'll own it for 5 years, drive it hard, and at least do 10k per year...get the maintenance plan for 5yr/75k if not screw it and pay as you go.

Glad I stumbled on this but it might be too late for me. Sounds like I might have been bamboozled.

I totally forgot this was listed under "build your own" and when I picked up my M2C on Tuesday this week, I was offered to purchase a 3 year/36k miles full maintenance plan when I finalized my paperwork. They quoted it as $1850. Was also told this was a BMW factory full maintenance plan that covers wear and tear items. Not realizing there was the Ultimate Care+ plan, I opted for this since I figured the brake pads/rotors would pay for itself.

Is it too late for me to swap to the BMW Ultimate Care+ plan which is basically the same thing (3 year/36k miles for wear and tear items) priced at $600?

I am super bummed right now cause I might have been taken a ride for... but I want to give them the benefit of doubt. Does anyone here know if what I mentioned sounds legit?

You can always cancel extended warranties and get a prorated value back. I've cancelled a number of them until I decided that most of them are a fools bet.

I would definitely call and get it taken care of. My colleague at work just cancelled his extended warranty on his Honda Pilot and got 99.995% of his money back.
