This is funny, I made an insurance claim for a broken windshield and the adjuster told me due to the Corona virus, they're not physically coming to inspect vehicles anymore, they're only doing "virtual" damage assessments via photos, video or even FaceTime conference.

I'm guessing if I call a prostitute tonight, she'll only have "virtual" sex

Welcome to the new normal

After several days at home, I had to go to one of those places that sell things. It was a great experience, getting out into the world. There were other humans there...which was strange and I did my best to stay far from them. Far away. Humans other than my SO are now scary...or something...

13 miles there, 13 miles back. Twisty roads without much traffic. Warm enough to get the MPSS's warmed up. I had MDM engaged for most of the drive back (I never turn it on with the winter tires...the car just seems confused). Gods...I've missed this. It was like the car was laughing with glee at being unleashed for the first time in ages. I may have been, too.

Awesome. So glad to hear folks doing what's necessary and still finding a way to enjoy some little part of what has become anything but a normal life. If our special cars make that possible then yay for us!

Welcome to the new normal
My insurance company has done this for years. It makes the process much quicker and convenient.

Well, this is new to me; I've made a few claims over the years and the adjuster always came to physical inspect the damage, prior to writing a check, even for the crappiest insurance companies.

I wish it was always this easy, hence the reason I waited this long, so avoid a hassle and making a claim.

You have to love it when the state government works out that they can bring in revenue from this virus. If you go for a drive in your car and don't get out this does not break any quarantine rules. But it sure brings in revenue.

Its actually a great time to get new drivers out on the road, so they can navigate on-ramps and learn lane changes on otherwise very congested roads. My daughter would have received her permit today, but now that the DMVs are closed, its every day lost for her.

One of my neighbors was teaching his 16 year-old to drive stick yesterday around the neighborhood in the world's most beat up Honda Del Sol...3 different colors worth of body panels on it, and a good deal of stalling. Looked like he (the dad) was really enjoy his time with his son (not being sarcastic...he was having a great time with it).

You know, it really is. Lower stress. Bonding time. Getting out of the house.

Don't know what it's like in the US but down here even the real police hate the highway patrol. There's a certain type of person that joins that particular team.

They are out in force at the moment doing their particular thing. Saw a poor guy in his Type R getting the full treatment as I took the "longer way" to the shops today. Even worse is that they are now in BMWs. Some even have M5s 🤯

I suppose it depends on the state here. Here in the DC suburbs (Maryland), there is no enforcement that I have seen. But again, its pretty quiet out here and most are home, with trips to the stores etc. If my daughter had her permit, I'd take her out for lessons because I dont see cops giving therapy drivers a hard time yet. I do see them in town squares just parked, to prevent congregation

I don't know about the Land Down Under but in the US, they can't bar a person from traveling, if supposedly, you're en route to any religious meetings, which is considered an "essential" service - go figure..

So if I get stopped, I just put on a yamaka, turban, collar or whatever prop I have next to me and tell them I'm on my way to worship our fair and forgiving, filling in the blank, God.

The pigs in your country get to drive M5's?!

Honestly since I was younger I wanted to do highway patrol just so I could legally speed all the time like they do😂

Went grocery shopping so shouldn't have taken the M but I loaded a ton of groceries and three 5 gallon water jugs in the back, but more importantly we had a blast. I don't know if it was the temp, but the farts between gear charges was very pronounced today. The M was loud today. Heat in the tires and did some nice slides too. 75 degrees what a glorious day!
