Beautiful track and driving, passed that GT3 (i believe) like it was standing still

Thanks!

There is no place like The Green Hell!

The car can now keep up with GT3s in a straight line, but like everywhere else there are many levels on the drivers here. Actually it is a bigger difference than anywhere else on TF (touristenfarten) as it is open for everyone. Trackdays is better, but things can happen as the trackday I went to, a big oilspill and crash resulted in the track being closed fo two hours in the afternoon. Resulting in a big loss of laps for me and many others.

After running Nankang AR 1 almost 6000km on the road and 600km on the Nordschleife I will write a small review.

600km on the Nordschleife is the same as 30 laps (most of them sub 8min and with a 95kg passenger) and it is about the same as 190 laps on my local track Rudskogen and the tires still have some laps in them though not many on the front tires. If the weather allows I will do a trackday on my local track on Friday and I think the fronts will be done then. I will say this is as expected from a tire with a wear rate of 100 on the fronts and 80 on the rears. If I had not driven the almost 6000km on the road the tries would be able to do quite a few more laps on the track.

I the dry the tires work incredible well and warm up quite fast. I ran a hot pressure of around 2.4bar as this was the reccommneded pressure given from Nankang, this is for the Nordschleife, on Normal tracks they reccoment around 2.0bar. The grip from theese tires are just fenomenal and they are very predictive and it is easy to catch slides (not that I had many of them as they are so grippy), they also make a little noise when on the edge so you get a warning. In the dry on normal street driving they behave nicely and provide better grip in low temperatures than the Trofeo R. So in the dry theese tires are a very good choise, the only comparison I have is the Pirelli Trofeo R and I will not hesitate to buy Nankangs again.

In the wet as expected they dont work very well and I only did one lap in the wet to see. This is the norm for this kind og semislick tire so I was not surprised. On the road in the wet and at normal speeds I did not notice any special, but I was careful. There was almost no standing water so I drove like normal on the Autobahn.

So my conclusion is that this tire is a very good option and I will say it is quite close or on par with the Pirelli Trofeo R and I will confom this after a trackday at my local track as I have never driven Trofeo R on the Ring.

This rating is for a semislick tire and like I said I have only driven on Trofeo R earlier.

Tirelife: 8/10
Drygrip: 9/10
Wetgrip: 3/10

That was fun !
Great driving !
Your vid clearly demonstrates that a well prepared M2 is more car than I will ever be able to fully exploit.

There is much much more in the car, but on this track you need a big pair of balls and a lot of experience to go really fast. I might get there some day (the track is very far away so it might take some time), but the most important is to have fun and go home without any incidents.

Here is a picture from the last trip to the Nordschleife and a Karusell picture is a must.

Did you drop the subframe to put the rear sway bar in?

Looks like a great car that you have built! I have a 981 Cayman S that I have done something similar that I use for about 20 track days a year at the local track club. Recently bought a M2C to do the same to use at a track in Arizona that is at an altitude of 4,500 ft (1,400 m), so the turbos will be helpful. I agree that one should focus on safety and grip before the go fast engine parts. I see that you have deleted the rear seats and installed a cage plus some racing seats. For the racing seats, I am wondering if you had any issues with the airbag error light? How did you code that away? Also, what brand of cage did you go with? Thank you for your help!

When removing the seats you will get fault codes and warnings and I used a coder with ESYS and knowledge to remove them.

I have a Competition Motorsports cage, but I dont think they make it anymore for the M2.

Thank you for the confirmation. It is great to know that it is possible to completely code out the airbag errors messages. Thanks again and enjoy the car!

I mounted a XDI 35 HPFP in my car the other day to get more headroom for tuning as the HPFP in the M2 is pushed to its limits and beyond with 500hp.

I took the pictures from the internet as I forgot to take pictures during the install.

New personal best at my local track Rudskogen. Not a perfect lap as I did some mistakes, but it is my best so far. I think I can shave 1 second of the laptime this year.
