You should probably work from home today or call in "sick"; it looks pretty treacherous out there.

I couldn't even wipe my name into the boys' cars this morning.

"California Cold"

We're freezing here in the office, heater has only gotten us to 63. Ladies have candles burning to periodically warm their hands.

It seems like I have to set my nest thermostat to 80 degrees to feel comfortable. My lady friend from the mid west has gotten used to Cali weather so 60 degrees now feels cold even though it's minus 20 back home.

Keep in mind self driving cars are all being programed in Calif, would you put your life in one of those when people get excited about ice on the trash can in the morning.

So when Self Driving cars take over, does that mean for the rest of the country when the weather is bad we all get to take the day off since the car will probably refuse to drive.

I suppose there will be apocalyptic headlines in your newspapers and this will be the lead story on the nightly news in LA. And of course it is just another piece of the evidence for CLIMATE CHANGE DOOM!

But, for perspective, I recall growing up in Newport Beach a winter in the early-mid 1970s when it snowed there, right down to the beach. I don’t recall any accumulation, however, but I do recall sub-freezing temperatures on several occasions. Back then we went to school as usual (barefoot, walking at least 5 miles, in our shorts, etc); today the weatherman’s threat is enough to send shivers of panic!

Enjoy the ice and have a little fun with it.

I wore my shorts to grill last night, although did have to move the grill to a bit of wind-block, and wore a sweatshirt.

I remember a bit of dusting in the mid-80s at UCSB.

It doesn't feel like 80 degrees. Last night I had it at 76 felt good. The gas company keeps sending me letters with bar charts showing how I use more than my neighbors lol. I'm not exactly a tree hugger but I do get the green leaf icon on my nest when I leave home as it automatically turns down the heat.

80 degrees? I'd stab you. My thermostat is on 68 year round. I would put it lower but my sweetie and his son complain they are freezing. One of them put the thermostat up to 72 the other night. I will find out which one did it. They were told I will cut their fingers off if they raise the temp. Don't mess with a woman with hot flashes. Put on a sweatshirt, damn it.

Happy Friday!

The fuck, 80 degrees. You sure you're a man? It was around 2 degrees here last week or so with the wind chill and my thermostat never went past 70. The only reason it what even set to 70 is because like most WOMEN, my chick complains she is always cold. Did you and your lady friend synchronize you periods yet?

Haha, thanks for the laugh OP.

I was in Atlanta last year when it snowed pretty bad in the area. It felt so weird seeing places and schools actually closing down because of it. It was clear the city was totally unprepared for anything like that.

In contrast, where I'm from, nobody closes their business because of the snow, but traffic and public transportation turn into a nightmare.

Then you look at places like Switerzerland or Austria and they don't give a damn about the snow lol.
