It was on the order sheet, I don't think they ever actually mentioned though in the email. Options 1TP and 1TR are the Cup 2s. I have to get some A/S 3s ordered here soon so I can get them swapped over before it starts getting cold though. It sounds like you're not supposed to even store the Cup 2s below 45F.

Yeah, the ordering guide just said mixed tires, didn't specify PSS or PS4. In the back of my mind, I was thinking the Cup 2s cost more, go with them.

I passed on the cup2s after reading about their ability in wet conditions vs the pss. I also saw the cup2s will wear down much faster and the pss is a better everyday tire. Depends on how you plan to use the car.

I'm going with the Cup2. Already have a set of street wheels/tires planned.

The PS4S as others have stated have excellent grip, wet weather, and longevity. They are cheaper than the cup 2s, but I think they last twice as long.

I'd like to experience the cup2s so that I have a future reference point. It's not the end of the world to order a second set of tires.

Shows a bit of the difference

These new cup 2s have tread depths that look closer to my p zeros and they are fine when wet. They hydroplane in standing water, so awareness when wet is a must.

Same. I do find it annoying that they don’t provide which tires come with the “mixed performance” option. Anyone know if that’s SOP?

On most vehicles it is as it allows them to put on what they have in stock, it's like winning or losing the tire lottery when your vehicle shows up. Very few vehicles do they specify the exact make and model of tire unfortunately.

If you go to TireRack and do a tire search by model, you can pick the OEM option and generally they'll have the a couple choices listed for what the manufacturer used. So far the M2 Comp has only been available with PSSs from what I've seen, so PS4Ss would be a nice change.

But Artemis - there will be all these unsold CS's available at a heavy discount .
Still today, the M4 CS pictured below is for sale at an official BMW M dealer in Belgium.

And yet still no buyer. Comparison: M2 CS M-DCT with metallic color (HS, MB or BSM) is €101,445 MSRP over here.

Picked up my CS today. Huge thanks to the staff at Bavarian Motor Cars! They're a great group of people to do business with.

I'm going to try to get 2,000 km on this beast asap so I can get the break in service done. I can't wait to drive it more aggressively. After playing around with the adapter damper modes on the way home (autobahn cruising), I can say there is definitely a noticeable difference. Comfort mode softens things up quite a bit.

Since the US Spec cars don't have OPF, the exhaust is fairly loud. Nice pops and bangs on decel, but you really have to have the windows down to hear them.

I'm surprised at how many people are recognizing the car as a CS. It turns more heads and get more attention than I anticipated.

Beautiful. Mine was taken to the dealership today for programming and prep. Nice to hear about the exhaust. For some reason there was a little worry in the back of my mind that we would end up with Euro exhaust setups due to our situation.

Congrats! No OPF and no fender extensions. Definitely not euro spec Plus our lovely amber front bumper markers. Now if only we could order on allocation here in the states.

Glad you guys in the military are getting a perk though! Thank you for your service!

The wait is making me more and more anxious as I convince myself that allocations are coming out any day now.

Had a similar thought, glad the OPF acronym won’t be haunting me any longer.

AFAIK none of the servicing is covered in Europe, at least it hasn't been in the past. It would be great if the break-in service is covered though.

They said the break-in service here in Europe is not covered under warranty, but it is covered in the U.S.

Awesome. Any idea what that’s going to run us (Mil sales buyer as well).

I think Sabine mentioned a price to me yesterday, but I already forgot. I can send an email to see how much the break-in service typically costs.

While I'm pretty bummed out I still don't know if I will get a CS allocation (deposits since Nov.) I do know that after 8 months of pushing paperwork, covid delays and town meetings and appeals delays I will finally be getting the permits to build my 6 car garage. At least I'll have a place to park it if I do get it !! Baby steps.. Aside from that anyone have any good news or rumors ??

Well this doesn't help anyone stateside awaiting an allocation but military sales got another 3 allocations and it sounds like they'll probably go as quickly as the first 5. Things have certainly changed from the original release of the M2 when it wasn't even in the program. You have to think if more slots are opening then the US slots have to be coming out any time.

My latest rumor from a GM is oct - dec allocation roll out .

....

It's like the 35% chance of rain from the weatherman

... Not blaming the GM.
