Hi all, does anyone know the location for the horns on an 2018 LCI M2 ? One of the dual tone horns has stopped working and it's quite embarrassing now sounding the horn as it sounds like a clowns horn and "camp" ! It is still under warranty but thought I'd take a look first to see if it's a quick fix - thanks in advance.

It's behind the bumper. Remove the front wheel arch cover then you will see.

Glad I found this thread! I just bought a 2017 M2 and was wondering what the hell cartoon horn this car has. Apparently my low-pitch horn is out. I had no idea!

My 2018 is suffering from 1 intermittently (but more often than not) failing horn as well. For those who looked at their horns themselves, what was the actual issue? Did you replace your horn with a new one? Was it loose wiring? Mostly curious because mine seems to work sometimes, but more often than not it sounds like a clown car.
I could get the dealership to look at it, but rather not have them touch my car if it's not really needed. Thanks! |

Go to your dealership and ask them if they will replace them as a known issue under Goodwill !? It’s reasonable to ask for Goodwill on something that breaks that normally should not break at all… Show them this thread, if need be If I had to do it myself, it wouldn’t be that bad just have to go in through the left wheel well liner to gain access

Can we buy a hella and just replace it with those? I’ve never had a horn fail on me, this is kinda insane. If I replace it with another, may just repeat the issue again.

If it sounds like a clown car, what most likely happened is that your low-pitched horn died (the one on the driver side). The high-pitched one is probably fine, it just sounds funky because usually, you hear both at the same time.
