Cool New to me 2020 M2 Comp!

Long time stalker, first time poster. Yesterday I collected this bad boy! Been patiently waiting for the right example to pop up on the market, and as soon as I saw this, I knew it was mine. 36000 Miles, 1 owner, completely stock and never 'touched'.

Sadly some rock chips here and there, and the previous owner didn't seem to have the best curb awareness. However the the dealer installed brand new OEM rotors and PS4S so that is a huge positive.

Was cross shopping between this M2C, F82, RS3, RS5 but I certain I made the right choice

First impressions of the car (First 24h):
- This thing is so violent in sport+ I love it
- S55 sounds much better IRL than in videos (I used to despise the S55 tone)
- So stable at "high speeds", 150 kph feels like 110.
- Feels like its on rails (haven gotten a chance to fully push it round some bends)
- Fuel gauge needle drops FAST (+smiles per miles so all good)
- Speakers are alright
- Headlights are incredibly bright

I've daily drove a Tesla Model 3 SR+ and an 2015 A3 Komfort for the last 3 years, and this is the biggest jump I've made so far. I'm incredibly excited to improve as a driver with this beast and I looking forward to every chance I can get to drive it! (maybe not as much with these current gas prices #ontario)

Congrats. Hope we will see you down here at the Glen with her (the Trillium folks have been making regular trips, and Mosport is their home turf). You may want to activate the 'speed warning' to ring you at a preset speed until you get used to it, 'cause I think 150 is a big deal up North (I do envy you metric guys those super brag-worthy speed #'s).

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Planning to do sparkplugs myself asap as the car has 36k miles. This will be the first time doing sparkplugs on a car too. If anyone has some tips and tricks a video that they reference, I would greatly appreciate it!

BSM F87 is a thing of beauty. Enjoy. Do the rear differential fluid and trans fluid next. Code M2CS steering/dif/mdm. Full screen CarPlay and enable rear DRLs. Oh and throw some M performance coilovers on it asap

Here's a tip given you're from TO...park that beauty in a garage.

You're welcome...

Spot on. Do preventive fluids first! Would recommend doing them all: dif, trans, coolant (both systems), engine, and brakes. Throw in some fresh engine air filters and remove the charcoal filters. Also, replace the cabin air filter too.

Welcome and congratulations! I've been driving BMW M cars for 20 years (and have taken most for test drives) and the F87 M2C is one of their best. Probably the last BMW M that I will have purchased new. . But, that is not BMW-specific; such is progress.

Enjoy!

Congrats, enjoy, and welcome to this awesome community!!! I much prefer these threads than the more sad ones about people asking how much they can sell their M2 for (totally fine but just different energy obviously haha)

Great choice! Congrats and welcome. You’ll find everything you need for your car right here.

You mentioned improving your driving. Are you headed to the track?

Thankyou!

Yes, I'm planning to do 1 or 2 track days this summer. I learned how to be quick on a sim but I'm afraid that doesn't really count. I would like to start learning all the little nuances for car control near the limit IRL, track day prep, etc.

Any tips for a first timer would be appreciated!

Great plan for the summer. I highly recommend BMW Car Club membership and starting with their driving events. Everyone at my club is super helpful and positive which makes the initial trips on track very enjoyable as well as educational. Having in car instruction can be very beneficial as the instructor can provide real time feedback.

I like to walk around the paddock and introduce myself to people and chat them up about their cars, prep/maintenance tips and particulars of the specific track I’m at. You’d be amazed how much you can learn from the track rats in BMW Car Clubs.

Just approach it knowing that it will take some time to get comfortable with track driving and be prepared to slowly work your way up the speed ladder. Most importantly just enjoy the experience!

Got my 2021 M2 Competition not to long ago! I see you’re in ontario, lets catch up and go for a cruise sometime if you’re around Scarborough Town Centre area.

As noted above, join the BMW CCA and do HPDE with them. The quality of instruction can't be beat, and that in-car education is essential for gaining driving skills. Trillium is a great chapter, Mosport is their home track and they come down to visit us at Watkins Glen on a regular basis.

https://trilliumbmwclub.ca/ and if they still have the drawing for new enrollees I'm #540002

I'm up for it!

Side-note: I think I had your m2c saved on autotrader like 3-4 months ago?
