I just did a 900 mile weekend trip in my M2C, 350 each way on the interstate with no problems. And I have a bad back to start with but was fine after a 6 hour drive. I'd play with the seat controls, base angle, thigh extension, back angle, lumbar, side bolsters. You should be able to find a position that works.

Note for long trips I do take stuff out of my pants pockets due to the bolsters being so confining, it does hurt to have a wallet digging into you for 6 hours.
Agreed - I think there are enough variables that you should be able to find a comfortable seat position. Try the tilt first - getting more thigh support helps with strain in the Iumbar area.

I've never significant back pain even with long drives in this car. Although to be fair I am too young to be on this thread

Wait, how did you get thigh extension on the M2C? 🧐. I don't believe that is available on this model

I was going to ask the same question.
I thought maybe I missed a feature on the seat.

Sorry, you are correct, no thigh extension. Oops!

In addition to being a great vehicle, the M2 Comp's gas gauge is also perfect for Dad Jokes. I asked my son the name of the gas gauge, and he was stumped before I told him it's "Revenge of the Sixths".

Have a great day, and may the fourths be with you!

I saw someone suggest setting two different seating positions that are both comfortable to the seat memory function and then switching back and forth during extra long drives to keep comfortable. I thought that was a decent idea.

Seats are fine, the harsh suspension would get to me on long drives with crappy roads.

Just crossed a guy in his late 40s with an M2C and the huge m performance wing on the trunk... so you are never to old I guess!

Just turned 50 and bought mine as a gift for myself. This is the 1 of 3 performance cars I own and the other two are even more visceral drives than the M2C. I would buy the M model that gives you the most enjoyment and thrill. Life is too short to worry about the social perception of others.

That's what I do.

Although it feels weird for a minute going from race car to cruise mode

Well, I turned 60 and bought a 2021 as a b-day present to myself last month. Absolutely LOVE IT. Took it out for a 500 mile round trip today and couldn't stop smiling. Buy what you want, to heck with whatever other folks think.

I bought mine 3 years ago as a retirement present to me. I'm 67 and have dd it and been to the Track 20x so far. It is transforming more into a Track Car the longer I own it. I am in process of putting a Cage and Track seats in it now. Could never own a Tesla.

52 and looking at M2. This car is clearly marketed to a younger demographic and, for that matter, I think the new G80 is too. That said, I agree with sentiment that you should buy what you enjoy. For me, this car is closest to what brought me to the brand in the first place (E46).

Poochie, you hit the nail on the head with that statement. that discribes the M2 perfectly. The M2's abilities, build quality, sophistication and brand, expanded the market. This discussion on age can be broadened to include other consumables, not just cars. words like: active, sport, athletic, fast, performance, etc... are all used to decribe youthful atributes. its the nature of the human condition. as people get older they will decide which parts of their life (if any) these adjectives apply to. the younger a person is the more likely these words will apply to more parts of their lives. The M2 is a youthful car, it fulfills youthful interests, however a person's numerical age does not have to be a limiting factor in fullfilling one's interests. I'm 57.
One other demographic not mentioned is the long time BMW owner, They had an E36 or E46 M3 and want to get back to the basics of a fun car to drive versus todays much bigger 3 or 5 series. Or they never owned one of those models (like myself) and want to have that driving experience.
That's me!
I'm 39, owned my E46 since '09, I have a slew of other BMW M cars, something about this package in the CS that draws me. I have driven the M2 on the track a few times and loved it! I'm looking to get into a modern take on the age old formula, which includes a 6 speed.

Thigh extension is available on the standard seats of the OG M2 and M2C standard seats.

Not on the M2C M Sport seats or on the M2 CS 'standard' seats (there are no optional seats on the M2 CS).

What are the M2C standard seats? I guess I have never seen a standard seat setup in any M2C videos. Don't all come with the old M3/4 seats?

In the USA market, you get the M4 seats only. All other markets have those as an option I believe.

Thank you. I do wonder how many people would tick the "standard seats" when buying a M2C. I sense that the take rate to be very small to non-existent. Isn't one of the appeals of the M2C the sports seats?

As always, informative information

And I would of forgiven the lady for the poor taste in roof coloring, if she was pushing the
manual version..

This is definitely a first world problem, but now that the Tesla tech amazingness has worn off, I just drive it around like a minivan. Whenever I hear Elon Musk talk about the next advance in self driving, rather than being appropriately excited, I think.. oh great, so we will make driving even more boring.

I test drove a M2C about a year ago and my reaction was.. "it's alive!" I loved it. But at "my age" I'm debating if an M3/M4 is more appropriate. Or even a 911, although I'm loathe to spend that kind of money on a car. Is the M2C more of a car for 20 year olds or 30 year olds? This sounds like a stupid question in my head even as I type it. But it's a thing. You know, I shouldn't be wearing skinny jeans at some point either (not that they fit me, but you know what I mean).
I just hit 50 and got my M2 comp past April. Love every minute of it. Definitely a different driving impression say comparing to a P car (i.e. 911), but definitely a great car. Whichever car you decide, it'll be a fun little toy. Cheers!

I bought my first 17M2 OG MT in Dec 16 at 54 and bought my second 21M2C HS MT in Sept at 57. I figure someday I will grow up but in the mean time I'll be making noise with my M2.
