Traded from 18 LCI to Competition

I’ve been thinking about making the switch for a couple months and finally pulled the trigger. Receive my AW Competition with Executive (Dealer Demo)on 14 January. I went to two local dealers, the first gave a low trade-in, but the second offered me what i paid for my 18 LCI with 15,900 miles... plus I got my M2 Comp below MSRP because of the demo discount. Can’t wait to see the performance difference.

How many miles on the demo? How much was discount if you don't mind me asking? Best demo discount I've seen is $3,500 off. Congrats as well!

I've seen these cars siting on dealer lots, unsold. You can likely get a similar discount on a new car if you look around - maybe not in CA or FL where people seem to have more money than sense, but elsewhere people are getting discounts off MSRP at this point.

Initial demand for this car appears to have petered out more quickly than with the first iteration. Anecdotal - I don't have any hard data/evidence, just what I see and read.

lol getting a $500 discount off of MSRP and thinking you've saved big. Have fun waiting another 6 months.

The car is 60k+. $500 is not even 1%.

??? not sure you understood ..guys are getting 5% off cars that are sitting...on the lot already How is that waiting 6 months? My point is that while there are some areas of the world that still have waiting list and/or charging above MSRP, there are also places where dealers have inventory they brought in thinking this version would have a similar demand curve as when the 1st iteration was released and that just isn't the case. and before someone else misinterprets what I wrote, I AM NOT saying one version is better than the other, simply that the demand curves appear to be different.

Where'd he say $500? I see $3,500 which is nothing to sneeze at.

Don't forget that this time of year is not when most folks are looking for a RWD car.

I have yet to see a single M2C "sitting" on a lot in the Chicagoland area - perhaps we also have more money than sense up here.

EDIT - the situations are also completely different. When the M2 was released, BMW also artificially limited production...after making the formally limited 1M. Of course there was going to be a very high demand...compare that with the M2C, which is more of an update, rather than a replacement...which comes along after two updates to the OG M2. And you’re surprised demand is softer?

Trust me, it’s not because the OG M2 is “better”.

How did you only paid $500 in sales taxes?

I'm asking for a friend.

SC, max sales tax is $500. On the other hand rip off is that you pay 8% property tax on vehicle every freakin year including the first. So essentially no extra benefit.

The discount is significant, but msrp is 61,200 or so... even with exec package is it not? I paid msrp will have to look but it was around 62000 with exec package manual and no sunroof. Ahhh, DCT?

I have not seen a single M2C sitting on a lot anywhere in CA...And nobody is offering 5% off MSRP.

I guess there are benefits to living in the middle of the country?

So, there were a couple factors that I took into consideration buying a demo; I traded my car in and took a hit of $400 on my LCI, I’m able to get the car within a 21 day window, and I got a $1500 discount. I’m military and head back to the states and Iwanted to ensure I receive the car from the shipping port as soon as I get back

How does one drive a car nearly 16k miles and only lose $400 on it and it's not a 911 R or a Ferrari?

Curious what the selling price was for the LCI, as well as the trade-in allowance...

I paid $46,400 LBB LCI with Executive and manual... they gave me $46,000 for trade-in.

When they offered $46,000 it was a no brainer

Wait so you got a nearly 10k discount on your LCI? I've heard of 5k off but that's pretty nuts unless it was used when you bought it. Even then 46K retail for a used LCI is pretty good.
