Purple Power to clean wheels?

My friend said she used Purple Power to quickly and efficiently clean her wheels (STI) and I had to admit they look really good.
Is this too harsh or is it OK?
I have an X5 as well and its worse than the M2.

There are plenty of dedicated wheel cleaners such as Adams, Sonax, etc that do an awesome job. Recommend using that.

Yeah, the purple power tears up my hands, no matter how I try to avoid it. I have Sonax, but it really doesn't seem to work on much more than brake dust. I will look further.

I picked up a bottle of Nextzett wheel cleaner from detailers domain. That stuff is incredibly strong. Honestly all I do is spray on and use a low pressure power washer to blast it off. I only break out the brushes maybe once a month now.
