How did you pay for your M2?

This pool is specific to M2 owners.
Just curious as to how M2 owners chose to pay for their toy.
(this should be totally anonymous; let me know if that's not the case)

Weird poll, not sure why it matters but I participated anyway.

Don't you find it interesting to see how people spend their money? It's anonymous anyways.

Payed for most of it (over 2/3) in cash, financed the rest over a few years. It might've been smarter to finance more and invest the difference but I really hate having a large monthly payment. Might pay it off early though, we'll see. I'm not planning to get rid of the car.

Only 1 leased so far? That's interesting.

Probably a good choice given the market conditions lately!

Not sure how it is now but when I bought my My17, residuals were crap...and rates were high.

Yea, I put down 40k and then financed the 20k for 72 months @ 3.7ish%! Haha...don't ask why. My payments are like $250 /mo though.

I guess it kind of makes sense that only 2 leased.
The M2 is not your typical car for a business... :dunno:

I think this poll really helps me out actually. I've been debating whether to lease or to buy. I don't have a business and since residual is at 48% for 36mo 10k miles, I don't think it would make any sense to lease whatsoever. My savings is exactly enough to pay off the car, but I don't want to put down all my savings of course. I'm thinking about what some of you guys did and maybe just put down 20-30k and just finance the rest. APR is pretty crap right now though. Saw a credit union willing to do 2.89% for 36 months so I might do that.

The 2019 M2c was very recently added to the BMW Finance Specials page. I was planning to pay cash, but if they're going to offer 2.89%, I can't say no!

Still put $18,000 down just to make sure the loan balance was below $50k

Is that yours that auto-populated on Kuni's site this week? I recall that you said you were getting an LBB on another thread (or I need more coffee).

Where did you see 2.89, the published rate for M2C is 2.99.

That would be mine indeed! I'm glad I didn't notice it on their site before they called me to pick it up. Would've thought they were trying to pull a fast one on me!

Perhaps the special changed, but it was definitely 2.89% earlier this week. I've got a big stack of paperwork to prove it!

I actually called my SA when my car magically appeared on their site while it was on the truck to the dealership. Inventory is added to the site automatically, apparently.
