M2C - same as base until 5k where it starts to taper off by 20-30whp
M3/4 base - standard
M3/4 ZCP - same as base until 5k, from which it holds a bit more boost to top end by about 20whp
M3/4 CS - significantly more boost at middle range till 5k5 than zcp. Top end boost is same but cs has more timing. However, you won't see more power if octane isn't there.
M4 GTS - slightly more middle range than zcp but more boost top end. Slightly more peak power.
BM3 CS+ - same as oem cs but with more boost top end.
BM3 CSL - CS+ middle range and GTS top end.
BM3 STG1 - significantly more boost (22-23psi) throughout rev range.
BM3 STG2 - significantly more boost (23+psi) full range

All of above maps are flashable with BM3.

Personally oem cs isn't bad but I'd go with BM3 CS+. On that map revving to redline is worth it.
Thanks Sean!

Interesting stuff.

Cheers

Sounds like the CS+ is the way to go, if you want to keep the car driveable.

I want a map which increases thrust/power from 5k-7k just like the 2015 M4 I drove did, passing other cars beyond 5k rpm it was a thrust/kick in the back festival up to 7k.

So I want this: at 5k rpm you have let's say 400HP crank and at 7k rpm you have 450/60/70HP

Is this possible with BM3 mapping?

Cheers
Robin
I assume a stock m4 tune would replicate what you felt.

The BM3 CS+ map is perfect, you can modulate the throttle pedal with confidence without fearing the boost to kick in and kill you. The datalogs also prove this since the boost pressure is relatively low with high ignition timing, making the car feel more naturally aspirated.

Have been lurking at that BM3 platform for a while now. I'll likely buy it as a Christmas gift to myself. Any EU based member who have had it shipped and can comment on shipping tax?

CS map is the sweet spot for our little platform, running about the same boost as my humble N55 with the upgraded turbo. And probably makes the same or slightly more power.

Funny enough the Dyno's showed CS+ being stronger than GTS and CSL

You don't necessarily but if u want to get the most out of the STG2 tunes and looking to get Custom Tune or Turbo Upgrade in the future it will be needed.
My CTS Turbo downpipes were just ordered via bm3nyc since I want more sound from my ZCP M3 but without messing with burbles
Also there could be some gains 120mph+

Yep K+Dcan usb doesn't support fast flashing
ENET Cable uses bmw own flexray technology and you can use same cable to update the iStep level of your car prior to activating (highly recommended if your car is old or used)

This is for the OP, have you had a chance to play with the CS+ map Vs/ stage 1 91 octane?

If so, what are your thoughts? I’m considering stage 1, or the CS+. Would love the power

Of the Sage 1 higher boost. But, I have enough sense to know how ridiculously easy it’d be

to get a panoramic view, if boost jumps in a bit higher than I’d planned.

Not yet. I need to upload the 93 octane stage 1 and also try out the CS and CS+. Temps have been dropping in a Northern VA....not good testing weather.

Alfy, have you had your M2C dynod since running the CS map? What power is it now pushing out?

Hey there,

Nope I didn't have the chance to dyno it, but check out this thread posted by bootmod comparing all the maps on the dyno.

We had some issues where the engine kept reving after letting off the gas and pressing the clutch under heavy load. Halim fixed it, working perfectly now. Should be fixed in generall for all maps in meantime

Baanvelgen.com Rotterdam, Netherlands that's where I'm going this spring to buy it. And probably let them do the flash stuff too.

Rotterdam isn't far away from where you are I guess?

Bit the bullet early and bought the package today. Now I have to wait for delivery of an OBD - Ether cable and will hopefully attempt a first tune next weekend.
Excited to see what can be done with this engine!
