Track Video: Oregon Raceway Park Sept 30th

Got a clean session with almost no traffic at the end of the day. I love this track.

That looks like a really fun track. I'll have to find a way to drive it next season!

Audi Club runs 2 weekends per year, one day in each direction. PCA runs a weekend too, but I hear they only drive it clockwise. If it’s your first time, regardless of your track experience, I’d recommend an event where you can get an instructor assigned. It’s a pretty technical track with lots of blind crests/corners. An instructor will get you up to a reasonable pace much more quickly than just finding your way on your own.

Definitely worth checking out though!

Good to know. I'll try to get out with Audi club if the schedule allows. Where do most people stay? Not much around there.

They allow camping at the track, but unless you have an RV, that’s probably not much fun.

Most of the Audi folks stay at the Quality Inn in Goldendale. The club reserves a block of rooms, but it’s a bit of a dive. I stayed in The Dalles this last time at an independent hotel called The Celilo Inn. Much better and only 10 minutes further from the track. More dinner options in The Dalles than Goldendale as well.

Either way, ORP is in the middle of nowhere. Both towns are 40+ minutes away from the track, and you’ll have to buy gas on site as the nearest station is 30 or so miles away. They do keep 92 octane premium price somewhat reasonable fortunately, despite lack of competition.
