PPF installation rolled edges or not

Hey Guys,

So I’m looking around to install ppf on my incoming M2C. One of the xpel installers says he only wraps to the edge and not over it because when removing the ppf in the future in any case paint may come off because it’s thinner around the edges. What are your opinions as rolled edges looks nice but be possibility of paint coming off is scary in the future?

I've had two different installers install ppf on two different cars. They both rolled and tucked as many edges as they could without pulling body panels off. I've never heard of there being an issue with paint coming off when you roll the edges.

I think you shouldn't have to worry about this. The wrapped edges look better and will not collect dirt and grime as an exposed edge will.

I would request to tuck in as many edges as possible for the installer.

go over the car with him to make sure you are both in agreement to what is going to be tucked in.

+1 for rolled edges. Our installer just finished ours up yesterday. Pretty sweet when you have to look hard to see if it has Xpel on it.

Yeah. I wish I had done this with my installer...
