Six months in and I'm still completely thrilled with the Enabled tune. I look for opportunities on every drive to unleash 2nd and 3rd gear, driving out of the way if I need to. In the cooler temperatures, it'll scrabble for traction in 3rd once the boost hits.
I had hoped to get some quarter mile runs in, but the event I had signed up for was canceled due to weather. I have a Dragy, but, frankly, finding enough straight/flat road around here where I feel safe uncorking what I'm guessing is a upper half of the 120 mph range car isn't easy.

I really wish I would've done before and after. I may have to stick the stock ECU back in when it warms up and do some back-to-back Dragy runs to quantify the actual difference. I miss the days when I lived 5 miles from the drag strip.

I think Stage 1 BM3 tune is going to be close to Enabled's tune in terms of whp. I think wtq is definitely a tough higher on the Bm3 stage 1 tune though. At any rate, I have to imagine you are correct on the low 120's....

Interested in the BM3 stage1 flash. I'm stock other than intake. Heard you need to change down pipes and charge pipes for stage2. Is one vendor better than another?

Dispensing with my ill-advised speculation and bench racing - even with my experience, I'm still guilty of "what if", so I charged the Dragy last night and will see if an opportunity presents itself. What I can tell you is this thing pulls so much harder at the top of 2nd and 3rd gear compared to stock that I get a great head rush. Between the RPMs, the thrust, and the manual transmission, it's more of a rush than I get from my big power vehicles - they have the acceleration, but "both hands on the wheel, mat it, let the fat tires work, and watch the tach bang at 6000 rpms" is pretty boring in comparison. An open interstate entrance ramp is a moment of exuberance. I drive more carefully on my favorite backroads because of the way the car will accelerate now. I've had a few "Oooops, that was a bit much!" moments approaching turns. The tune has really cemented my love for the car.

The Dragy I posted isn't my car. I just pulled that off the dragy leaderboard with the Dragy app to provide a datapoint/example. I believe you are correct on stage 2 needing downpipe at a bare minimum. Also, if you go stage 2 you absolutely should do crankhub. With Enabled's tune or a mild CS level BM3 tune really not necessary IMO.

I went with Wagner. Many go with the AA catted pipes. Both are the high end in quality and price. I would say that most will provide similar gains, however some might fit better than others. For me, I did not want clearance issues so I went with a proven company.

I was able to make two "Invalid" Dragy runs. The first one was a 13.4x@114 and I was wondering how crow flambe' tastes. I flipped a u-turn and hit it again back down the same stretch (which has a slightly off camber turn in it) and went 13.2x@120 with a 2.6 60'. I shifted 1-2 at 6k, waited until well into 2nd to go WOT and still got the TC light flashing at me.
We're supposed to be back in the 60s at the end of next week, so hopefully I can find a good stretch of road to make a valid run. My fingers are still crossed for something in that 125 mph range. It's chilly right now, so the DA is lovely, but the traction, not so much.

finally got the dragy and went to play with my Golf R. 28F, summer tires and salt on the road, lol. Still, fairly quick I'd say. Can't wait until spring and try the M2. I'm sure it'll trap a lot higher, but I don't know that I'll be able to launch anywhere near as well as this little car.

Oh and for shits I actually did a 60-100 with the M2c back in October as I figured would be a better metric for the M2c to compare to my old R. The R was still way faster. I was under 4 seconds 60-100 in the R (3.93s). The M2c was over 5.3 seconds....keep in mind this is pre-Enabled magic though At the end of the day I think we all know that these cars arent drag racers. Not their forte...if you want that get an RS3 or one of these R's and FBO and tune them Last edited by MSH_; 01-22-2024 at 11:24 AM.. |

All this Dragy talk makes me want to get one!
Please let me know if I need to contact you, post your email address or something and I will get back! I was traveling for work in the 1st and part of 2nd week in January.

I've been using my wife's tuned Edge Sport (2.7 EcoBoost, AWD, performance all seasons) to scout for Dragy spots. It's nothing like those AWD VWs, but it absolutely roflstomps my two M2C efforts on the short game. A half second 60', 3/10ths 0-60, and still 3/10ths at the 1/8th. M2C numbers are ahead by a couple of tenths and 17 mph at the 1/4.
I think I've come down to driving my M2C to this nasty job site one morning and doing some pulls on the interstate. I commute at 4:30 am, so there's typically very little traffic on the road. Even the interstate here is plagued with rolling hills, but I think it's the safest option. One of the best things about where I lived in Indiana was the vast areas of flat, smooth, nearly uninhabited roadway. I was tuning a friend's turbo truck one evening when we got pulled over. The cop chatted about the truck for a bit, told us to watch out for deer, and waved us on.
