If nothing else, these guys made a great unpaid (at least I think) advertisement for Dinan. They rave about the improvements in handling and ride character. The coilover kit seems like a bargain at $1250 + est 4 hours labor, especially in comparison to some of the other aftermarket kits. Although I recognize it does not include the actual shock/strut like most others and requires reuse of the OE shock/strut. Not sure it makes a huge difference?
It also sounds like he likely bought all of the other Dinan suspension components from the catalog based on the dialogue. All the other Dinan suspension stuff seems like a relative bargain as well, and kind of seems like if you were doing all of the stuff at once, their would likely be a combo cost advantage for labor. All in with Dinan coilover, tension strutball joint kit, rear suspension link, and adjustable anti-roll bars (kind of wish they were fixed and not adjustable bc I think it might be easy to screw that up). Guessing with an estimated 10-12 hours of labor, should come to about $4500 for the whole shebang. Not too band when: BMW M Performance Coilovers alone are $4420 with install labor from my dealer and god only knows how expensive Ohlin's might be? I have a hard time pinning down an exact cost of Ohlin's with internet research. If money were no object, I would do the Ohlins and maybe add the ancillary components from Dinan. Anyone else have experience or anything to add to this? |

On another note. The guy in the video was constantly talking about the harsh oem suspension of the M2c and how Dinan coilover sleeve kits rides wonderfully and not harsh, etc. Is Dinan suspension really that good and softens up the ride without sacrificing performance?

There is a good discussion on it on the M5 forum where the dragy times weren't nearly as good as one might expect. Also, they added verbiage that says if you attempt to verify via dyno, they'll void your warranty. |

Voided warranty if you verify with a dyno!?! Sounds like snake oil for sure.

This is back again?
Hold on-- let me get comfortable-- Oh, and the warranty is also invalid (in addition to the dyno) if you use the car in ANY "competitive event". Good luck with that. Noelle's warranty isn't even useful if you were to print it out and use it for toilet paper. |

I stopped reading the original thread when the OP claimed "More importantly the cars stability and traction control systems are MUCH better."
How does a vehicle that's already severely traction-limited, due to its max 265 rear tires, improve with more power. : There are exaggerations and then there's strait up lies, one I'm ok with but if you try to insult my intelligence, I take that personally. ✌🏻 |

I have the M-performance coil over kit, lowered the car (to the recommended settings) and yes it transforms your car completely. No false claims here, I am sure you could do this with about any other coil over kit as well. Car is more stable, more comfortabel, les prone to ridges/longitudinal cracks in the surface, and feels more planted.
Regarding the claimed 600hp, I have difficulties in judging from the video and even larger concerns in believing their claims. There has been no prove put on the table, in fact, they are trying to keep the proof from the table. Thought I had left the "Nasioc topic new tuner false HP claim" topics behind me when selling my last Subaru in 2013....... ;-) |
