This is just a preview. And for a preview it looks pretty damn sexy. Just wait for the reveal before you make your final judgement. This is practically a painting!
I don't get this line of thinking.....

You were saying how it looks "beast" or whatever slang term you used.... But using your logic you're jumping to conclusions since it's a render....

Or you just want zero discussion and everyone to agree with you. It's prob that.

Fanboys...... LOL....

Great job on the renders, Wild Speed. The car is shaping up really well!

I don't like the look of that side profile or back.

Not for me, but hoping for the best for this car

I could care less about the rendering; this is what I'm now worried about. If BMW sets the base MSRP at well over $50k while providing nothing more than what the 1M offered, it is somewhat concerning. Though many of us are most interested in the M2 because of its smaller size in comparison to the F8x twins, the compromises in kit are mostly only acceptable if BMW actually keeps the price down. With the 1M's base MSRP around $47k, the M2's base MSRP really should not be over $50-51k, unless it offers noticeably more than the 1M, which, from what we know so far, is not the case.

M2 Look-a-like

I'm sorry to say this guys, but I think the M235i looks a lot better than this. Reminds me of the copilot to the Millennial Falcon from Star Wars...

My thoughts exactly. It'll be unfortunate if it does approach $55k msrp when a stripper M3/4 can be had under msrp is that close...

It's not too hard to imagine an Msport 235 which is already a fine looking car just beefed up a bit. The M2 is going to be good looking and the right size.

Why does the front bumper remind of pu$$y lips/labia folds? And rear bumper where the reflectors are look like the X5 M. Other than that, it'll be a fun car to drive for sure.

Same thing was said when the M3/4 came out, now everyone loves it. Same process with every new release.

Allowing for a 3%/year inflation rate over 5 years from the 1M's base MSRP, the M2's base MSRP would be around 54,000. The M2 base MSRP will be somewhere between 10,000 more than and M235i (43,000) and 10,000 less than an M3 (62,000). So $52-53K. Add another 2500 or so for DCT so around 55,000 for the base price on the DCT version.

Uhh no. I wouldn't ever trade my E46 M3 for one of these. This may have more fancy electronics, computers and all, but the E46 M3 is way better in terms of looks...a lot more elegant without looking ricey like this one does.

It will look a lot like that but there are very specific things that are slightly off that make a big difference, such as the position and alignment of the lines on the intakes, as they aren't perfectly lined up on both sides the same way.

I like it! Bet it will handle like crazy!!!!

But I like the looks of the M3/4 just a bit better, so I don't think I'll cancel my order.

I dunno man, Scott corrected you earlier in the thread about some design stuff. I think you're losin' it . But I agree that the fangs will be less chubby looking and "sharper" I guess in the final product. At least that's my hope.

However, 3% inflation per year isn't even remotely correct; the Bureau of Labor Statistics' CPI inflation calculator shows that $47000 in 2011 has the same buying power as $49862 in 2015.

Unfortunately, 2011 did not have a direct parallel to the M235i (I'm guessing the closest thing would be the 135is, which wasn't offered until a later model year), so we are unable to find a 1M price differential to estimate an M2 MSRP from the M235i.

What will be key is the standard equipment offered on the car: more standard equipment than the 1M would justify a slightly higher cost (accounting for inflation). However, you then run the risk of alienating the buyers that want "stripper" model, as increased levels of standard equipment would be considered a negative by this particular subset of buyers. A possible compromise could be the slightly higher base MSRP, but reduced optioning costs. With a fully-optioned 1M coming in just under $55k, if BMW's optioning strategy is similar with the M2, they should really try to keep a loaded M2 between $55k and $60k. If relatively few options manage to push the M2 over $60k, I think that BMW will being to lose buyers at a fairly exponential rate.
