I can make the vector art, that part is easy. Maybe someone else who knows better can help shed light on the copyright issue. If we modify the image enough (CS roof pattern etc, does that make it new IP or still under Future Classic's rights).

What kind of metal plaques did you have in mind? Are these embossed/engraved/water cut/or full color?

At that point i'd say, just make a different plaque design entirely. Since Future Classic/IND (I believe they are associated) are well established suppliers to the tuner community, i think it would be wrong to copy their designs without compensating them.

Or it may be mutually beneficial to approach IND/FC to offer it as a new product and hook them up with my friend's company.

These would be metal plates at whatever size we want. Full color. I told them to assume a 2"x3" aluminum plate when seeing if it was possible and we would modify from there, and the answer was along the lines of "all day every day".

Are we making belt buckles out of the metal plates? Necklaces with mate gold chains? What is the plan for the plates?

Something like the UK 1M plates?

Yeah, that's a good question. If there's not an awesome spot for a plate, it's not going to be of high interest and not worth the effort. Garage art is another route too of course.

On the side of the dash where the door opens? on the carbon tunnel? dunno...

I was going the garage art route, but maybe one of these areas?

PS - ignore the quick photoshop job.

Maybe this is why Future Classic makes a window sticker after all . There really is no place to put a medal plaque in an area where people can see it without messing with the car (maybe below the AC controls?)

I certainly wouldn't want to use glue to adhere something to a collector e30 m3, and thats kind of what our cars are.

This looks like an ok place... but the shape isn't right to fit properly...

I don't want glue anywhere either which is why it's just going to be garage art for me, in addition to a couple of artist renders.

True, if the group buy decides to be that direction and if we can only pick one, then I'm sure the shape can be something more suited to that.
Maybe curved on the top to match the trim.

I do like the plates on some Mustangs in a similar location.

Now if we really wanted to do something crazy, could get in touch with IND to make an alcantara panel with a plate embedded in it!

This I would buy.... replace the alcantara insert that has the "CS" and keep the CS but incorporates our specific production number..... like any limited edition car, we want to know and have recognition!

Why not the inside of the glove compartment? You'll know it's there and it won't detract from the OEM look.

Window sticker or wall art for me. I'm not seeing a place where I'd want to glue a non bmw sanctioned plaque in the car. Unless it's inside the glove box, or trunk. Maybe weld something to that nasty ass exhaust :P

I'll likely buy whatever is offered even if I don't use it for the intended purpose.
