For those that have replaced OE Cup2's with another set of Cup2's...

I know that the CS came with non-Connect Cup240's originally, then were switched to Connects sometime in 2020. My question is if anyone here has compared the Connect to the non-Connect tire? Might sound like a silly question, but Michelin is known for constantly changing the spec on their tires without any mention of it, and I'd like to know (if possible) if the TireRack version of the Cup240 Connect is indeed identical to the OE non-Connect, and Connect Cup240's that were sold through the dealerships with the 763M wheels.

Yes, I know, no one cares but me, but I'd like to know if possible.

I thought the cup2 connect was OG equipment for the CS? The only non connect cup 2 I've seen is 180tw vs the connect 240tw. The cup 2 that came on the M2CS was specifically for that car. There was a good video about it around launch time where I believe someone from BMW was discussing it.

The original Cup240 Star Spec was not a Connect tire, I have them on my car at present, build date 17/20 & 22/20, and both rears are 16/20. They're easy to spot as they have no Connect logo. So all original CS cars got the non-Connect, and sometime during production Michelin changed it to the Connect.

What I don't know is if the original tire is somehow different to the later Connect, or if the original tire is still being produced for some countries alongside the Connect, or if the Connect fully replaced the original.

I have wondered the same thing. I have the Connect 240 now. I have been wondering if the Star Cup2 non-connect would be the same tire for less money. Are the sidewalls the same with the checkered flag pattern?

Same exact sidewall, just one has the Connect logo on it.

I have recently purchased a set of Cup2 Connect Star Spec's that came on a set of 763M wheels direct from BMW, so I'll be able to complete a detailed analysis from there.

My CS came with these? I thought the little nub on the inside was for the connect? They also came with a "connect" on the sidewall?

Yes, you are correct, you got the Connect version.
I thought 2 of yours were built 27/20, and 2 were 29/20? Were those the ones you bought with the Frozen Gold 763M's?

I got the original/older version.
1 of mine was built 17/20, one was 22/20, and both rears were 16/20.

The ones I have coming are Connect 2021 build, so I'll compare them to see if there are any differences other than the nub and sidewall marker.

Both my OE's and my current second set of cs take off's (frozen gold) were connects. The actual date codes for the tires that were built on my car were 3920 & 3620.

This info is for the masses since we spoke already...
