I will be taking delivery my M2 soon

BMW has offered Presidian extended 3 years warranty .

Just wondering if anyone has taken it up and the experience with claim.

It is not cheap and comes in 3 plans with capped claim

not much goes wrong that you will be able to claim this warranty against IMO.
If anything just spend the money on crank hub fix if you are going to tune the car and use the rest to pay for any needed repairs. Most S55s have on the whole been reliable in first 6-7 years and BMW have a decent goodwill warranty if you service with them and are just out of warranty and something major goes wrong

The last extended warranty I had was on a 2014 LCI M5 F10 (Competition Pack) as an approved BMW Certified BMW & warrantied second-hand car (3 year extended warranty from the original BMW New Car Warranty expiry date).

Only a very few Australian BMW dealers are allowed to offer this BMW extended warranty (included and free). The other piece of mind was a complete 100 point vehicle check and certified BMW Parts from New .

I never had a claim but the extended 10 year/100,000km Service Pack I paid for was worth every penny for the 4 years I had the vehicle . I worked out that after 3 years of Annual BMW Service’s I was in front .

When I traded the vehicle for a BMW M2 Cs I had no problem getting it traded or exchanged . It had a full BMW Service History .

Also don’t forget Australian Consumer Law has now changed so that a vehicle (or any New Consumer Goods ) has to be warrantied (Merchantable Quality) outside of the Manufacture Warranty Period .

I was told there was no extended warranty being offered by BMW, when i picked my car up in Feb this year !!

Well that’s interesting and it might be something to do with the new consumer laws (?)

If that’s the case BMW Australia have certainly changed their tune !

One anecdotal story (from a Brisbane BMW Dealership) that I can tell you about : this was the original dealership that I had looked at for a M2 Cs .
They had a previous trade-in BMW Car from interstate and BMW had to replace an Engine to the tune of over $20k . Their was a big argument between BMW Australia and this local dealership.

The dealership hadn’t done their homework and accepted a trade-in sight unseen !
It seems the previous owner had deliberately used an interstate BMW Dealership to palm off a Dud vehicle (still under BMW warranty).

Moral of the story check your vehicle and warranty status !

this warranty extension is actually a 3rd party product

I think Porche extended warranty programme is probably what I will consider.

but the Japanese and Korean cars are offering complimentary 5,7,10 years warranty !!!
