Test Drove M2- Liked It
If I had to replace my M3 right now, this would be my choice.
The M2 resolves some of my issues with the M4. Torque delivery is more linear. The car feels noticeably lighter and smaller: easy to toss around with a predictable recovery. The sound is less raucous than an M4 but still sends a message to the driver. I never looked at the tach, shifting is intuitive from sound and engine response. Very quick. It is the re-creation of the 1600/2002 car- a ridiculous statement really, the M2 being so superior in every way. But this M2, with a manual transmission, certainly recreates the spirit that drew me to BMW decades ago. People on this Forum have already made their M2 assessments so what I am saying is- You have my approval.
