Another daily here, 30 miles round trip commute in mixed driving, taking kids to school and sports practice, etc. When needed (we have an SUV for main family vehicle). Did the one car for winter and one car for summer/nice days thing already (both manuals). That was great and all but this time got the DCT and will just drive one car no matter what, it’s a blast to drive so having fun all the time.

more runway clearing

can be very challenging to keep the runways open for inbound/outbound traffic here at times.... can't even get the truck out of the driveway in 36" of snow.... not sure how the M2 would do but i'm not optimistic.

Wow, that's a good dump of snow. Where I live we rarely get more than couple of inches and when that happens basically the life of the city stops, bosses don't expect employees to show up for work during those apocalyptic road conditions

Not a DD for me, because I take my dog to work most days. Dog doesn't go in the M2. She's 13 yrs old and 65lbs. Easier (and safer) for me to take her in the SUV. Do love driving the car though...

Mines a DD as well, it's my only car, but I mix up commuting to work (30m there and back) with the car and my bike. I usually do the same mileage on my bike as I do on my car a year.

Just currently getting my head round a set of winter wheels/tyres. It's the first car I've done this with, but I think it should be worth it for this car to make it enjoyable/usable in the colder months.

I DD mine too. It's about 14 mile round trip, but I do swing by the house during lunch so 28 miles a day.

The commute is definitely the highlight of the day, doesn't matter how bad traffic gets (if it ever does) tutting around always brings a smile to my face.

What kind of MPG are you guys getting with your cars?
Recently got mine and I am hardly getting 17 MPG driving it on conform mode. Car only had 600 miles.

Yes I bought mine to DD for time being, it is my first 6 cyl. Always had 4 + turbo

I average 19.2 on shitty California gas and mostly highway miles. Drive the car gently up to temp, then switch to Sport+ and drive more aggressively. I can get around 21-23 round trip if all I do is try to save gas like my life depends on it.

DD no doubt, winters and all. Dare I say winter is just as fun in this car as other seasons. Commute use to be 80 round trip, I felt guilty for the miles but the ride was great.

Now it's 12 round trip on back country roads. Loving it. Would have hated the subtle highway drone of Dinan back then, but worth it now.

Note the M2 is also a frequent family weekend car. Hauls road bikes and family of 4 to shore weekends. Wife's ride handles winter touring.

All that said, I'm considering a wrangler for winter.

I'm getting 20-22mpg, mix of city and highway. I don't drive like a maniac but when there is a good reason to switch it to Sport+ I can't resist.

your commute is very similar to mine. I'm interested to see how the M2 holds up, and or what it costs to drive over that kind of mileage. The tires are a known vice and the gas mileage is not bad for a performance car but what else could pop up haunts my thoughts.

Yes, I currently don't have a commute but in 22 months I have driven my M2 33,000 miles and done 9 track days. It is a great car for both really. Only caveat is the condition of the roads in your area, for the most part roads in AZ are excellent (compared to Cali and most other states). If I lived in an area with crappy roads I may not feel as warm and fuzzy about the ride. I can tell you the ride quality was improved going from the Conti's to 4s.
