I wish I could get the CS in SO. My personal favorite M2 color. There will certainly be very few Misano M2s around.

Interesting that there is a 480hp M2cs racing on rFactor2. They keep things very realistic. The point to this is that the real CS racing is expected to have chips that unlock tuning capability. The 450hp version is expected later this year. If we are seeing 480hp rFactor2 setup, then this likely exists for the real M2cs racing.

Ehhh, I guess it doesn't matter to me whether I get black or the gold wheels. Only matters which one of the two I don't have to pay extra for. It's gonna get a different set of forged wheels with street tires right away. I'll have the stock wheels with the PS Cup 2 for about a once/twice a year track day so I'll see the stock wheels less on the car anyway. I guess if both colors are a no charge, I'll just flip a coin and that's what I'll get. I'm impartial to either color. I like more of a silver or gunmetal color to my wheels than black or gold.

Or just offer them in plain silver, would look so much better than black or gold.

P.S. COChris got it right! Apex EC-7 wheels look fantastic in silver, and I am sure black as well.

I have a derision of black wheels for many of the reasons previously mentioned earlier in this thread.
Consequently, I have opted for gold wheels more because of this than my love of the gold. If silver or even light-mid grey had been offered that would have been my preference.

I wonder what the gold wheels will look like with the standard red calipers instead of the gold calipers. Now that I think of it, if you opted for the CCB, the gold wheels would like fine with gold calipers, but might look weird with the red. Hmmm...

It's been dubbed the clown car spec. Blue, gold, red. I like it, but it's not for everyone

Still bored with no new news, so decided to extrapolate sachsenring times to nurburgring times. Surprisingly, patterns quickly emerge. Using various bmw, Porsche, and a few others it puts the M2 CS at a 7:40.5 to 7:41.5. Right in line with rumors and "about 10s faster than the C". I also believe that the M2C time is artificially low and should put down a 7:49. OG M2 is on point.

The difference is made by the tires, if the CS had the SC2 you can't compare the times. Maybe a OG M2 with SC2 would be faster than a CS with PSS.

There are a number of variables that I didn't share. It was easy to spot the outliers when using different tires between tracks. Other variables that created identifiable differences were power and aero The point is that it was reasonably easy to quantify. You can practically write a formula for cars that fall within various groups to predict times from one track to the other with a couple of seconds. Not to bad. Had I used more data points and plotted results I could do even better. This was just arm chair and calculator.

So missing hubcaps and stupid teenagers, not a positive association.
And gloss black seems worse than Matt, I don't like gold but it's least offensive between gold and black especially because the gold is very mild.
Hardest choice is Missano blue or Hoch silver
+1 for hatred on black wheels. It's way too played out, and black masks the beauty of most wheels. Why do you want the wheel to be the same color as the tire and also blend in with the fenderwell...?
As for color, I vote anything other than HS. The CS is a special car, and by far HS is the most common color for the Comps that I've seen. At the last C&C there were probably 8 M2 Comps, 1 was SO (me), 1 was black, and the other 6 were HS. They all just start to blend together.
As commented before, there is an alternative: get the 763M in black and have these refinished in 'Orbit Grey' paint (official BMW paint color of 763M wheels of the M3 CS and M4 CS). Cool 'gunmetal' stuff when you see those IRL.

Agree I love mine in grey.

Only downside is the scars round the wheel barrel cause there’s zero clearance.

Those Orbit Grey 763M's might just be among the most beautiful wheels BMW's ever made.

Just gorgeous.

Orbit Grey is dreamy - would take over the Gold.

This is a reasonable example as it captures MB in bright light, but doesn't mute the gold wheels. I was under the impression the the muted nature of frozen gold would be present in most lighting, but I'm starting to see that is not the case. They look mostly gold in most light when viewed incident to the wheel.

Weird. I can see it in my post and the post of mine that was quoted. I couldn't find any privacy settings. Here's another attempt.

Here's black as well. The black sort of does look muted by the misano blue.
