New AP Racing Electroless Nickel caliper finish: Incredibly durable / looks stunning!

I am pleased to announce an exciting new development for our AP Racing by Essex Radi-CAL Competition Brake Kits: The new Electroless Nickel Plated (ENP) caliper finish! In the past, AP Racing has reserved their ENP finish exclusively for professional race teams. We are thrilled to now offer it to our club race, time trial, and HPDE customers. The primary performance advantage of ENP is extreme durability. Electroless Nickel Plating is incredibly hard with exceptionally low porosity. It is perfect for components exposed to harsh chemicals such a brake fluid. It can sustain years of abuse with very little change in appearance, while also being remarkably easy to clean. Last but not least, ENP provides a stunning yet neutral, liquid-metal appearance that blends well with just about any vehicle color scheme. Our new ENP finish is now optional on all AP Racing by Essex Radi-CAL Competition Brake Kits at only +$200 per kit vs. our standard anodized finish! (+$100 more per caliper)

You can see our complete brake menu for the 2016-2018 M2 here (OEM blue brakes)= https://www.essexparts.com/my-vehicl...W/M2/F87%20All

Here is the link to the 2019+ M2 Competition and CS (larger gray OEM brakes)= https://www.essexparts.com/my-vehicl...tion/F87%20All

On to the visuals...

Our first client car to receive them was a McLaren 620R...some on-car photos for reference. These calipers are truly stunning in-person!
The 620R isn't too shabby either...pulls pretty good under boost.

Ooh, shiny.

If I had a bunch of money burning a hole in my pocket (pretty content with the "old" versions I have)...

These look so amazing, but damn it kills me—wish these were available when I purchased my kits. Y'all should offer a trade in or way to do ENP when calipers come in for service/rebuild.
I'd love to have these on my car, but it's not worth the hassle of purchasing new and then trying to sell a full brake setup, not to mention the monetary hit.

Im a mechanical engineer and i design, spec, and work with ENP'd parts on occasion. The coating is awesome, it feels so slick and durable at the same time. Looks great too! Great idea to use it on brake calipers!

We understand and are evaluating exactly what you described above. We have such a limited number of these caliper sets right now, that we can't make it happen until Q1 2023 though. We are looking at this an option though. It would have to be a trade-in/up program. The electroless nickel plating is applied to the caliper’s aluminum body during the initial manufacturing process and is not something that can be added afterwards. Thanks for the input...we appreciate it!

Well, I fired off an email about it pretty quickly and undoubtedly was the catalyst for spawning this idea—if y'all could just remember that when the time comes, I'd appreciate it .
