3.0 CSL Hommage...

I think it looks better as a drawing/render than in real life. Sorry to say so BMW.

3.0?

Why? With their current crazy nomenclature shouldn't it be called a 4.0? Even if there is a 3.0l engine under the hood?

Some angles are nice, some are odd, the lighting is nice.

soo.. csl has nothing for design then? do you mean Performance and Design? i understand function over form but this is hard to like.. it's like it was a college art students final project...

The interior is a homage to the KITT car.

I wish they kept it less complicated. Front end especially...

This is not going to production anyways, isnt it?

I ain't gonna jump on the snipers' band wagon rolling down the tracks pretty hard in this thread.

It's an interesting concept car. It reflects out-of-the-box thinking, originality, creativity, skill and effort of BMW designers.

It may warp you out of your 'comfort zone', bother you, stir your thoughts, challenge you like a splinter in your mind.

Back in the day, the 3.0 CSL 'Batmobile' - to which this new concept car pays tribute - likely evoked similar instant feelings: "What have they done ?!". The rest is history.

De gustibus et coloribus non est disputandum. Each of us is perfectly entitled to like/dislike a design. Alike human relationships, one cannot be forced to love or like a person or object, but at least pay respect.

Yes, this concept car is unusual - yes it's peculiar. It may or may not be love or like at first sight for you, but at least give it the chance to reveal itself to you. Allow yourself to 'acclimatize' to the design, give it a fair chance to get accustomed to it. Don't feel threatened by it. Allow it to be processed and marinated inside your mind. To your surprise, it may get you second thoughts, thoughts of positive appreciation. Apart from sight, allow yourself to grasp the vision flaunted by BMW, for now and for future designs.

In other words, dear forum fellows, try to adopt an open-minded approach, even if you feel rather uncomfortable about it.

Unlike SCOTT26 I'm not affiliated with BMW. Feel free to gun me down for my point of view. This view ain't fueled by unreserved 'BMW fanboy-ism' - no, it's fueled by the willingness to give this concept car a fair chance, open-minded and with all due respect for the challenging creativity it captures.

One of the car guys I respect the most once told me that something is wrong if you don't like a design right away. I subscribe to his theory.

Looks insanely awesome except those kidney grills kill the front end.

Thumbs down

This thing is BUTT UGLY!!!!

It looks like the work of somebody on LSD!

If you like this, then you probably think that the Pontiac Aztec was the most beautiful car to come out of GM.

Where do you begin with this.

The original csl was a car with a purpose to go fast on the track. The funky design that was cool was just a nice little bonus

This thing on the other hand is not a race car but something designed to look like a race car.

Really BMW? Now your into the make things that look like race cars but that actually aren't...

Time for me to go cry in a corner. Bmw was supposed to be for enthusiasts. Not rice.

You should work for BMW Design. I love it, but a little more front fender extension would be cool.
