European M2C, how to get rid of OPF filters / get better sound
Hi everyone,
I'm getting my M2C in Europe next month and I struggle to find solutions to get rid of those terrible European filters (OPF). I want it to sound like a real M car. I know there are a few people talking about here but so far the only option I saw is Akrapovic line for 7000€ which is not an option. Anything would help! Thank you! Enjoy guys and be safe |

I had the same issue and doubts as you when i collected my M2C. As far as i'm aware, there aren't any solutions for removing the OPF filters without re-mapping the car afterwards which equals loosing your warranty.
I went for the Remus 'Race' OPF back exhaust (which is meant to be one of the loudest systems with OPFs), it makes it significantly better in terms of the note but the loudness is still not comparable to the systems in my previous cars which didn't have OPF filters. I saw that people have started cutting out the resonators as well but that amplifies the metallic sound which isn't for me. I think that leaves me with the downpipes, maybe slightly less restrictive sports cats in the downpipes will be a solution... |

On my M2 production in June 2019 I installed autowerke kits https://store.activeautowerke.com/co...ition-mid-pipe eliminating fap. Unfortunately when you give it all at low revs with a high gear the control unit goes into sleep mode. Just turn the car off and on to make communication disappear and return to full power. Unfortunately upstream of the fap, on the down pipe, are connected two small tubes that feel back pressure created by the fap.
A real billet. The noise is fantastic and the performances improve by 15 CV (see dyno ) In the end I had already planned to map cars to Biesse Racing so for me it wasn't a problem. I remind you that your car has the latest BMW software that prevents you from mapping cars via the OBD socket. Biesse is the only one in Italy that manages to map cars by connecting directly to the control unit without disassembling intercoolers. These are the results. PS it is not taken for granted that the guarantee is lost. When you bring cars to make a coupon and connect BMW diagnostics they don't notice the map. The BMW diagnostics checks whether the number of files in the control unit corresponds to the expected number. If it is the same, everything is regular. The Biesse map succeeds in misleading diagnostics by supplying it with the same number of files. However, if there are serious problems and they make a data log the control unit obviously notices the tuning. With the old BMW software it was really easy to automatically recharge the stock map with a Flasher device that could be purchased from Biesse. Waiting for them to be able to violate even the last update, the only solution is to return from Biesse to load a map directly on the ECU. |

I don't have the time to write it all down here since most of it in the forum, but a quick voice note will explain it all. MR |

I'm picking my new M2C up next week too and am having the same thoughts.
I've been looking at the Eisenmann race exhaust but is it easier to just leave the OEM muffler and remove the GPF? I don't want it to be silly loud, just sound a lot better than they do as standard. Does removing the GPF cause any major issues? |

I have made a plan to write you guys full overview and to make a series of videos explaining the work that needs to be done, because this is getting out of hand. I hope to have my story finished over the coming days. I will make the videos tomorrow.

What’s meant by the tune that’s needed for removing the OPF/GPF? Is it a full remap or is there something really easy that can just disable the signal from the sensors?
Out of the choice what would people recommend? - OPF back race exhaust - delete OPF with standard exhaust |

Personally I would opt for OPF delete, but only when you don't want to go down the route of ECU tuning. MR |

Ok, i think i'll wait for the product that you're developing before i remove my OPFs in that case, with the hope that it's a piece of hardware that cheats the sensor and doesn't require flashin the ecu |
