My M2 is tuned and I feel like it’s still slow
Money is tight and I feel like for the money you don’t get enough car I hate the interior and the s55 in M2 with the seats gets me salty about the OG M2 I deadass am upset with BMW, M2 had so much hype and now I’m stuck financing a car That I thought could have been better, the M2C should have been the M2 from Geico.. smh sorry for rant But does anyone else feel like this ? We would lose a lot of money getting rid of it at the moment |

I'm ok with it, i'd be more salty if the M2C was the same price as MY2017.

I'm definitely a bit salty. I like the looks of my OG more but wish it had the S55, the seats, and mirrors. The fact that the value of the car is not holding like I thought is also annoying.
I also wish that I didn't get a DCT but that is an entirely different conversation. Sam |

Nope. Bought my M2 knowing the M2C would be right around the corner. If I had planned to do heavy tuning, then maybe, but only because the S55 is a better platform for tuning. For my current needs though, the M2 hits all the boxes. There isn't much point imho to lament over the M2C if you already have the OG M2. Car manufacturers are always making the "newest and greatest."

personally i knew the m2c was coming out and i still got the og m2, if you look at overall car, OG is a good car, engine is good, just that s55 is more geared to high stress racing situations, unless youre a serious track guy, then this car is good enough and has its own character, im telling you this car (OG) will go down in history as a classic, perfectly balanced driver car. next year when refined version of m2c comes , the m2c'ers gonna feel salty on that! its a neverending carrot on a stick, that you never quite get a bite, these companies like bmw, plan their marketing and corporate/technology strategy like 10-15 years in advance, so theres ALWAYS 'more car' coming out next year, the new finance model of car companies is to get guys to lease cars for 3 years and never actually own anything, keep upgrading to the new model, nah, stock to stock m2c you get 10% increase in power, |

Yo , Don’t let this guy saltiness get you down ..OG M2 is bad ass
Same 0-60 speed as the M2c, for most folks that don’t track their car it’s plenty fast for zipping around town - if you need it faster than that and you don’t track your car you’re doing some illegal sh*t on public roads and probably eventually will get a knee to the back of your neck by a cop |

Take it to your nearest track. You will quickly realize that it's not the car that's slow but it's the driver.

Perhaps if I were tracking the car I'd care more about the S55, but I'm not. Actually, I read a M2C review on here where someone claimed it didn't feel as torquey down low as the OG does. Since I drive the car primarily on public roads I'd prefer to feel the power earlier on. As it is I'm surpassing legal speeds coming out of 2nd if bringing it to redline. I prefer the look of the old kidney grill, I'm indifferent on the seats, and I certainly don't care for how low the M2C exhaust hangs down. IMO my OG M2 with Dinan res delete/exhaust combo sounds wayyy better than the M2C. To be honest, the only thing I want off the M2C is the damn mirrors |

I love my M2 and my only regret now is I could have waited a little longer and maybe got a better deal for one, since to M2C is out. I also wish I'd worked harder to get the 2016 model.
I never cared about it having an S55 at all. I'm not a hardcore tuning person. I've tuned cars in the past, but only to about the level that the OG M2 power is, so it has enough power for me. I do wish my M2 had the new seats, but I still like the OG M2 seats. The M mirrors are cool, but also something I can live without. It's always something. When had my E36 M3 with the luxury package, I wanted the vader seats. The European models had 321HP vs 240hp for the U.S. They also had the cool six individual throttle bodies. The European models also had the glass ellipsoid headlights, while we in the U.S. had the stupid plastic ones. It goes on and on, and that's how it will always be with performance cars. This being my first new M car that I've owned it's pretty special for me. It's superior to my old E36 M3 on so many levels, that it's hard for me to be salty about anything. I've been through several cars the past four years and this one is definitely what I wanted. That's my situation, and I'm sorry the OP doesn't feel happy with his purchase. |

OP, I purchased my first new car (I still know the VIN)) after I got my first good job out of college. I agonized over whether to get the sedan or the 2-door hatchback. In either case, it was going to be a fuel-injected (vs. carbureted!) 2.0 liter with a 5-speed, because the "i" version had 110 HP instead of 98. I opted for the hatchback, because I could put my state-of-the-art custom 12-speed racing bicycle in the back -- without taking either wheel off. (BTW, that bike cost me $1,423.87, and it was my 25th birthday present to myself!)
Out-the-door, the car cost me $12,108.05 (before financing, which was a 3-year loan at 12% interest), and in my quest to find the best deal (86 was basically a total redesign) I talked to 36 dealers. This was in November, 1985 -- before the internet! My '86 Honda Accord LXi was one of the best cars I ever owned. 32 mpg. Seemed kinda fast, and it was, compared to my '73 Toyota Celica which it replaced. I drove it 204k miles, sold it with the 3rd set of tires totally used up, original clutch (!!). The friend's son who bought it (mom sprung for his new tires at Costco) totaled the car 3 months later. That Dec/1985 purchase is $29k in today's dollars. Is your car twice as good as that '86 Accord? No. It's WAY better than that. Your car is a performance bargain! Enjoy the journey. Keep your perspective. Things change. Kiss your wife, hug your dog, and the next time you get in your car, think what it would have cost you had you bought it in Hong Kong. (Hint, about double!)

I'm not upset but feel like it was an uncool move for BWM to do that kind of an upgrade.
I think a tuned n55 m2 is already faster than usable in the city , but if you want more power, it would be waaaay cheaper to upgrade the turbo. I mainly like the the M2C seats. I do not like the front grill. I do not like the awful looking wheels. I do not like the ridiculous muffler. I do not like the lawnmower sound that S55 produces.

I ordered my M2 in May and was one of the last productions, I'm so happy I got the M2 instead of the M2C, Less money to finance and love the sound of the N55. It works for me as a car to have, don't plan on tracking much if at all tbh. I had enough time on a dirt track with the 358 modified.

If you look across the total car spectrum the M2 in any guise sits pretty high up on the food chain.
I am from South America and in my hometown bmw doesn’t even sell the M2. Over there a 1.8L econobox is considered a luxury and most families spend years saving up for them. Does it really matter what the newer models have? Don’t let that take away from appreciating what we get that many can only dream of owning. We are very lucky to be able to enjoy these cars Having a little humility will help ease the salt...
