I may have probably been the first few that noticed this car for sale a week or so ago. They have been taking a while to service, inspect the car followed by taking pics of it. I've been hunting for "the one" a while now and recently switched my search from MY17 to MY18. Few things I ask for before even talking about price. Service report (bmw dealer should have this), inspection report (jag may have done their own), take this to a certified bmw dealer and have them inspect the car and fill out a CPO inspection sheet (won't cost you more then $250 for this), you've done the basics (carfax/autocheck). As other's have mentioned, changing anything this early in the life of the car, just seems fishy imo.
Once you get the cpo inspection done, check the tire treads. Make sure the car has even treads (I found out a car I was interested in had severely uneven treads on one side, which made me think the car was tracked). Make sure the car wasn't driven in the snow, if it was, did it have snow tires. Check for salt and rust on the underside. Before you jump the gun, make sure the entire condition sits right in your head, if you get any doubt, pull out. Good luck! |

Don't doubt the condition of this vehicle - it seems legit.
Plus, this will just be one of the first pre-comp M2s dipping lower in price. - We all know most oem accessories don't hold much value when it's installed on a car and being resold. The most anyone should ever pay for this exact deal you have is $51k |

Good call on the exhaust tips. All bmw performance parts were purchased at the BMW dealer. The tips are aftermarket. The owner didnt want to pony up 250+ per tip. They look funny in the photo because the outside ones are farther out than the inside. Looks funny. Will probably remount them for now.
Everything else seemed legit. Car drove amazingly. Having not drove one yet, I was surprised how light the clutch is. Was use to the clutch on my challenger. Will take some getting use to! Just waiting on final numbers from bank and the ok from the boss |

Sounds like a good deal. I'm glad you found out more info about the tips. I was going to mention it, but I'm late to this thread, and was beat to it. FYI, putting a battery on concrete doesn't drain batteries, this is an urban myth.

The dealer actually was friends with the previous owner and got him on the phone to answer a few questions. Made things much easier.

Maybe. Its located at an "Automall" so I'm sure its not out of the question considering theres likely a BMW dealership right there. Whats involved in that check? Can they check by vin or is it electronic?

If it clears that, then car is fully warrantied and seems like a deal

Well right, but you can lift the hood and see a dp, or intercooler, or whatever. If those are not changed and dealer didn't flag, what's left to make this guy walk away.

If the M2 has any of those, the dealer can deny the warranty claim if he needs a warranty repair. The car does not need to be flagged ahead of time.

Also, it didn't have the little extra bits that the one I purchased had (MPE, Diffuser, etc) Those are the reasons I went with the one I found, but by all means, go check it out! It's still a good price I think. But I would find out why the last 2 owners didn't even get to break-in service. |
