Good deal on 2018 M2?
In the market for an M2 currently and I came across what I am assuming is a very good deal from a local dealership. Wanted to ask here and see what others thought.
2018 LBB M2, Manual Trans, with executive package. ~ 3500 miles. Also has M Performance exhaust, CF rear diffuser, and M performance pedals. Asking price is $49,499. This seems like a stupid low price for this car. Anything I should be on the lookout for? Thanks! |

Agree, that's a good deal on an 18 with exec and perf ex. Just make sure there is no accident history and I think you are good to go!
Good luck! |

Appears to be a good deal.
Ask to see the BMW Certification coverage documents. http://cpo.bmwusa.com/warranty/ How did the dealership obtain it? Did a customer trade it in on an M2C or other model (e.g. 3 or 4 series), or decide it wasn't a suitable daily driver for them? At your own cost, you could take it to an independent BMW shop near you for evaluation. |

I would ask the dealer to CPO the M2. It extends the warranty to 6 years 100,000 miles. It would also then tell you if their were any mods that were made that impact the warranty. If there were, they couldn’t CPO it.

Would a non-bmw dealer be able to CPO it? It's a jag dealership, but most of the dealerships in the area have several locations with various brands, so it's possible they have a BMW dealership in their group.

Check to make sure break-in service was performed at the 1,200 mile mark. Other than that sounds like a great deal

A non BMW dealer cannot CPO it. But a BMW dealer can CPO a car that wasn’t purchased from them. So see if you can take it to a BMW dealer for an inspection and CPO survey.

Thank you all for your feedback. I just sent a long email to the sales rep at the dealership outlining all the questions. He did send me a couple quick pictures of the car since there was not any on the site, it looks beautiful! Also, it appears to have the black front grill as well, the dealership probably didnt notice that it wasnt stock.

I got my similar spec'd 2018 without the M performance bits, nor the black grill but it had a sunroof. Paid $53k with 1500 miles and I thought I got a great deal back on Dec. 26th. I think yours is better! Go for it and good luck

Yeah, this is going to be really hard to pass up. I might try to work them down on the price to see how bad they want to sell it. They havent had it long. Just sent an interior pic as well

Update: Dealership sent me some info back. Apparently a young guy had purchased it earlier this year and thought he could get a car seat in the back, which wasnt going to happen. His SO made him get rid of it and traded it for a Land Rover Discovery.
Also, they cant CPO the car, but as others have mentioned, I can take it somewhere else to get that done. Does anyone know what the cost might be to have that done at a 3rd party dealership? He said hes has interest from all over the country, but the manager wants to keep the sale local. I guess I need to jump on this! |

Also,
Just got the carfax, clean title, service was done at a local BMW dealership at 1241 miles. Looks like they had it in for another service at 2819, and another at 3356 with a battery replacement. |

Honestly seems like a great deal as I just put a deposit down on a 2016 CPO M2 with ~10k miles and I'm paying $46k. What kind of financing are they offering you?
Also, unrelated question but there's a 2016 LBB M2 outside of Chicago at a BMW dealer with 3k miles but it's NOT CPO. I reached out to the dealer and they're giving all sorts of odd answers as to why it's not. In your guys opinions, is that a red flag? |

If you can get a picture from lower down on the rear you can see the muffler to confirm. Should hang lower than oem and say m performance on it. Compare to the fotos in this thread: https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1275696

As for the CPO, that does seem strange, particularly if its a BMW dealer. Its in their best interest to CPO it as it raises the value of the car (they can sell it for more). I dont really know why they would be giving you the run around on it. Is there some kind of cost involved (other than time) for a dealership to CPO a car? |
