I agree with you .. I think this is the m235 size.

I don't know what to do as I don't want to pay 80 buck for a badge

I paid £38, $80 seems expensive. Any reason this is the case?

No the one we got it's the replica one.. it's smaller.

And the original badge is 80 dollars here in the states

Yeah ordered one from the ebay stated in this thread M2C badge. Hope that is not smaller than regular size...

I've looked into this also for just the competition portion. On the M3 threre is less room between the trunk edge and current logo location while the M2 and M4 have more room. It does appear it may still look ok on the M3.
