Can you PPF over this? I wonder if pulling the PPF rips the paint off, probably does. Makes more sense to just repaint I bet.

Yes, you can. But the AutoFlex acts like PPF anyway.

Are we still expecting the M2 CSL to be introduced in early 2019?

M2 CSL is MY2021.

G80/82 is MY2020.

It looks G80/82 competition should be MY2021.

Now the interesting part - it will be a tricky job to position this little CSL to G80/82 and G80/82 cp. Given the rumored spec:
1) G80/82 is 465-480hp (X3M said to be 465 already). G80 cp should be 480-500hp

2) G80/82 is lighter than F80/82.

M2C is about the same weight as F80/82. It looks like M2 CSL, if BMW really works hard on it, would be G80 weight.

I know many would argue different philosophy different audience. But let's be real, M car should be more or less share the same gene.

Forget about luxury part and compare with these - same weight, same power, older platform with CSL badge, less tech, a LATER announcement date than G80, how would BMW position M2 CSL to G82/G82cp performance wise?

What's even more interesting - price point? LOL...

Exactly my thinking.
I also don't think an CS or CSL is happening anymore.

Seems to me that BMW decided (at a very late stage) to tear apart an already developed M2 CSL and sell all the signature parts (AKA M-Performance parts) to a broader audience and even for a higher margin. Very clever move of BMW, if you think of it. Why sell a limited special series car with expensive and uniquely developed parts (Carbon roof, hood, fenders, trunk etc,) to 1.000 people for only a small or even no margin when you could sell these parts to 20.000 potential buyers for a much bigger profit.
To me the proof for this theory is the availability of a carbon roof as a retrofit item! Thats crazy and makes absolutely no sense, unless it was lying around in the corner with the indended use just beeing axed by BMW ///Marketing.

No update since last Spring (see here), apart from this sign of life .

Thanks for the responses, fellows. Based on your comments, I have fixed my previous post ^^^^.
[And yes, I realized the answer to my revised question is still a resounding and definitive No!]

I bought my car from a BMW engineer who works very close to the production line. He confirmed that an M2CS is coming by end of 2020. After they have discontinued the M4CS.

I think it greatly depends on the next gen M4 but if the upsizing trend continues I can see BMW moving towards making the M2 a target for these special versions.

Don't know about you guys, but I'm waiting for the M250iCSLGTS HEMI. A credible source tells me the Fiat Chrysler and BMW merge is inevitable and should happen by 2035 due to new emission standards. This will be one of the first cars under combined ownership.

Or you could go blow your money on the CSL in a couple years which will be be yesterdays news once the real M car is released.

BMW would probably just wait and build a M2 CLS on the G-Series platform to take advantage of their new lightweight body structure campaign..

IMO, being able to shave 130 LBS off the new M340i without the need for over 15k in M Performance upgrades is quite an accomplishment in BMW world..

If only the claimed weight numbers are true.

Remember how F30 should be much lighter than E90.

I would like to see a CS option package on the M2 instead of a dedicated model. When BMW offerd the M4 GTS model it got all f’ed up by BMW (BS vetting process), the dealers (lying about vetted customers) and people with financial means buying them up only to try and make money. The whole thing was a shit show. I’m glad it backfired for the most part with the GTS. Maybe it will help keep it from happening again. If it was just a CS package there would be no finite number of them out there for the speculators. The real enthusiast would have an opportunity to purchase them this time.
