Hockenheim Silver: I really do not understand the hype

BMW should come out with a Hockenheim White so everyone can argue hours on end about how it's not white, it's greyish/silver.

Having just sold an Alpine White e90 M3 I owned and saw in every possible lighting condition for more than 9 years I can assure you that my HS M2 cs looks nothing like it in any light at any time.

Taste is individual but I hate silver cars and this is my favorite color ever (1975!). I see it as a better take on Porsche's premium priced Chalk. It's wonderful.

If you saw the colors of my other cars you'd understand why at least ONE of them has to be moderate.. lol

Edit: Already have a (formerly) black car, a blue one, a gray one.. I wish there were more options for the M2, but BMW decided to restrict us. Do not worry, the car will be wrapped in frozen ________

Saw an M2C in HS last weekend at a dealership. Car was outside and clouds were moving in and out. I watched the car go from pearlescent white to shimmery silver to flat(ish) gray. Even my wife (who really doesn't care) said "wow yeah I just saw it change".
I'm very pleased that my order is currently HS. I'm very not pleased that I'm still potentially 2 months out lol.

I think BMW really missed it on the colors! The sales may not reflect that because of how great this car could be, but color me not happy about the colors.
They could have brought out the next epic "M color" on this possibly epic car.
BMW wont sweat it as they will likely sell every M2C they make quickly, but still

They left me wanting more, and that's not how I like to feel when making any purchase-large or small. Just my .02. I may still buy one in the spring. Lots of time spent indoors dreaming of driving... may settle for a color and then have it wrapped

AGREE, will probably need a wrap job. I would like a frozen blue or grey methinks

I'll post it up when I get around to wrapping it. I'll have to clean out my garage to get space to work with the wrap. Haven't wrapped since january.

Having seen one in person at the dealership and ordered it, it definitely looks good in person. Under interior light it's like primer grey, and then when you take a photo of it it looks silver.

I'm very excited to see it again when my car is delivered!

I completely agree with this post.

I have seen a few HS M2's now up close and I think it is a really naff colour. It does not do the car justice and it looks much better in Black. I don't get why they do not make available better colours for this car.

Interestingly, the car I saw most recently did indeed have colour match issues with rear bumber. Pretty significant and would have been enough for me to reject it. Bumper was clearly a different colour to body.

I think if people are going to put lots of carbon on their car then the dark contrast of the carbon fibre looks much better with HS in my opinion.

You could say this about white as well but there's something about the slightly darker HS that makes CF pop in the pictures I've seen here from people adding the M-performance spoiler, mirror covers, diffuser, etc to HC silver cars. There's no doubt it makes the CF parts stand out a lot more then they do on my LBB.
