When I heard of the M2 competition coming out earlier this year, I was not interested in what the competition had to offer (seats, new engine, higher price), I rushed and bought the last new LBB M2 pre competition available in Canada.

I had to import it from Vancouver to Quebec. Price reduction vs MSRP was very substantial of course.

Honestly, I could not be happier and I regret nothing. Not getting the 2018 model and being forced to get the 2019 one, this I would regret. But that's just me!

For anyone complaining the first gen M2 doesn't feel fast or feels under powered the car will turn 59s at Lime Rock on stock tires - with a passenger. That's crazy quick.

M2 is a fantastic M car. Enjoy what you have and try not to look over the fence.

Nope! Glad the Comp exists, but sticker is $6k more than I paid and I don't see the value prop for that difference. "OG" M2 still makes me giggle daily, 2 years later...

Me and my friend who I track with took a look at a M2c that just came in at our local dealer and I think we looked at and talked about the rear muffler for like 20min wondering what the hell were they thinking loll

Rest of the car is very nice, brakes are impressive, I kind of like the ''wider'' front bumper, looks mean and the seats hold you better if you don't plan on using a harness. Power delivery seems more linear wich is nice. All this makes me eager to see if they will make a CS/GTS..

I have a 2018 LCI so the changes are minimal but for someone coming from a OG its a nice step up.

Interesting read on this topic.

Not salty at all, cause I beat the shit out of my M2, put 16k miles. Modded, had fun, tracked it, drifted it a bit locally and had a blast for the year and a half I owned.

Financed at 0.9% so traded and walked with 6k towards the M2C and will now do it all over again with the Competition..

There will ALWAYS be something newer and better, just get out there and enjoy what you have at hand. If the opportunity is given for a change don't think it too much.

I think the people that are pissed off is because they thought the M2 would hold value like a 1M and realized it wasn't.

The price point is great.

Been on here for a while and saw how someone added the carbon strut brace to their M2 at nearly 3k in parts..

Saw how IND also offered the M3/M4 Mirror kit for the M2 at another what 2-3k?

Seats have been swapped from M4s into multiple M2's again anywhere between 1.5-3k if you do full set?

That's already close to 5-6k..

Try swapping the S55 engine into the M2...

6 pot brakes standard..

Every time I read the M2C price is not good enough to justify changing I laugh really hard because people are comparing it against the current M2 value..

All those changes for an MSRP of 58900 is a deal..

I was committed to buying it as long as it was in the mid 60's and after all is said and done it's looking at about 55k OTD taxes and all.. it was a no brainer for me. Glad I did it at the right moment, car dropped about 3k in a month while I was debating doing the change since price on the Competition hadn't been announced yet.

I would say more so its the complete engine change.

A lot of people here seem to not appreciate what they currently have which is rather sad.

I think people forget there are MANY out there that wish they could acquire an M2 but aren't able too. This including the Pre-LCI variant.

I cant wait to see powerhouse S55 M2s on here!

Totally content with the MY17 M2...I'll sit in the corner by myself with one if it comes to it!

More power is one thing, but I think M2C front is more like civic Type R'ish...too edgy and busy. Whereas the M2 front is like e46 M3...more of timeless design.

Saw sunset orange. Why does BMW insist on offering orange paints that look so red (sakhir, sunset)? I guess it's better than Porsche's lava orange (more like salmon) but geez...offer a real orange for crying out loud! Makes me appreciate fire orange even more.

Just wish our cars had more tuning potential and the seats from the beginning, yes our M2s were holding value until the M2C... I’m sure people felt the same way... who knows maybe OG m2 will go up in value in few years and a lot of people may want the OG m2... is it better to wait a year or two and do port injection or upgrade turbo or just wait till next gen, well see

I can tell you as an X3 owner, I wish I had gotten any M2 instead of the X3! but when you have a wifey, apparently you have to take others opinions into consideration too lol....next year I am buying an m2...whether it is the m2 or m2c, I don't care. like others said, try not to see the greener grass else where, fertilize your own yard...that's how you get that REAL GREEN GRASS.

Nominating this for post of the year...

Meanwhile, there are people in other markets ordering the M2C with the original M2 seats instead of the new seats.

Changing subject, that new decal pattern is fantastic. If I had this car in white, I'd be buying that. The location of the red block really emphasizes the M2's big wide hips.

Not in the slightest, the OG seats suit the dimensions of the cabin, the M3/4 ones do not.

The new wheels are fashion items.

The S55 is undeniably more "M" but performance and character are hindered in Europe following the introduction of the filters.

No discounts, yet this car will be produced in similar numbers to the OG, the time to buy, if ever, is 24 months from now following a likely lci or run out

If the m2c was what the m2 was supposed to be , then bmw wouldnt have called it the m2 competition

the OG m2 is its own unique vehicle, mix of components, i.e. balanced

Otherwise s55 m2c wouldve simply continued on as 'm2'
