I may or may not have downshifted on purpose to scare a teen who was looking at his phone and almost walking out onto the street.

It was great

I may or may not have done that with dog walkers with my modified E92 M3...

Lol one time my friend pressed in his clutch to rev at someone while in motion (immature i know), and a cop was right behind the corner. Pulled us over for speeding down the block, only we just made noise, didn't get a ticket tho.

Nope. Not at all.

My M2 is in MG; low key, understated. Perfect to blast my exhaust incognito!

The car rarely gets attention unless it's an enthusiast.

I hate to be "that guy," but to all of you who have posted about the enjoyment you get from using your expensive sports cars to annoy and alarm random pedestrians (little old ladies and dog walkers no less): I urge you to reflect on your behavior. Not just for the sake of the innocent victims, but also for your fellow BMW drivers who have a bad enough reputation without such antics.

Thanks for the PSA, Buzz Killington.

Lol while I somewhat agree with Mr. Killington in the sense that I don't think I'd go out of my way to be revving an engine at people just to scare them, I do find it annoying that people associate volume with speed. If the car is heard shifting through first gear into second in or near a school zone, I automatically get dirty looks. Regardless of holding a speed of 50 km/h

It's understandable why, among all the people I was referring to, you might be the most sensitive.

If you hate being that guy, then don't, it's as easy as not posting

And trust me, a few of us revving cars near people isn't going to help the 18 million other assholes who buy cars for status.

As you doubtless know, "I hate to" in this case is a figure of speech wherein the "but someone should" is implied.

I'm interested that people would push back against the notion that it hurts us all when M2 owners drive like a**holes.

No M2 owner drives like an asshole, for that you need to talk to the M3/4 folks

Please, keep away from M2's and never, ever buy one, or you could alarm a random pedestrian or animal without actually wanting it and .... imagine if somehow you end up enjoying it... it would be unaceptable, possibly creating a deep cognitive ressonance contradiction

How about we get back on topic...

My LBB gets a lot of attention around town. The color is what most people (non-enthusiast) notice the most. I get stopped at gas stations all the time, whenever I have my windows down (95% of time) at a stoplight people will comment. The car also gets a good deal of attention at Cars & Coffee events (enthusiasts) with comments about the color, how they have never seen one, and how its a manual. My aftermarket wheels have also seemed to draw in more attention now.

I've had my MG M2 for about 2 weeks now and have seen several heads turn on the road. I've noticed 2 people snapping photo's in slow traffic behind/beside me. On once occasion while filling up I had a police officer who owned a 2013 3 series come strike up a conversation, he had no idea they were producing the M2. Living in Oklahoma the M2 is rare (still the only one on the M2 owners map) so it likely has more reactions than coastal area's where they are more common. Loving it more and more each mile I drive it.
