All you have to do to get it back on via the app is to change the value for model range from F20/F21 (ASD off) to F87 (value for an M2).

I haven't tried it yet but that would explain why there's a setting in non expert mode to turn it off but not to turn it back on as turning it back on depends on your specific model.

This confuses me. Does this mean we should code our ASD off by selecting the F20/F21 model and then coding it off? Then if we want to re-enable, select the actual model of the car range, ie, F22/F23/F87 and it will be enabled by itself (as there is no selection to turn it on; just off)? Anybody get nervous by selecting a model to code for ASD that is not our model??

That looks sick! Can you post some pics of your switch inside the car?

hshot_rooke Thanks! It's the same switch that came with the car. All I did was use an exacto knife to remove some tabs on the back of the button (followed this write-up - http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1023817). I've been looking online for the euro button which has the fog logo, but haven't found any without buying the whole switch. Part of me actually likes that it is blank, and it's not worth buy a whole switch when mine works haha.

Wow, I saw that thread, but didn't realize this was so easy. Gonna do it this weekend, thanks for bringing it back up!

BTW: so what are the front fog lights? Usually those are lights closest to the bottom, but obv with the air scoops (fangs), there is nothing there.

My car is in paint this week (according to dealer) and will arrive in 6 weeks. Has anyone successfully coded a MY18 LCI and what were you able to code?

It seems like the newer versions of this car are being produced with fewer options that can be coded (items/modules "grayed out"). Has anyone with a MY18 LCI found that they were NOT able to code something thata could be coded in a MY16/17?

For those of you using the expert mode, if asked to rate yourself on a 10 point scale in terms of IT/Tech savvy skills, where would you be? I realize this is very subjective, but just trying to get an idea of where I need to be in order to get into this side of the app.

thanks - cheers.
I'm still working through my list of items I want to code. I got through the FEM section. I wanted to change the auto signal (I have no idea what it is called) from the default of 3 to 6. I was unable to do it via the app – I tried both the menu system and expert mode. I wrote Stephan and he said that option was no longer available. Everything else in the FEM that I wanted to do worked.

I have a 2018 440xi built in August. M-sport

It looks like there's now an Android version.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ive.bimmercode

I installed it but there doesn't seem to be a way to activate the Android version if you'd purchased the IOS version. I'm hoping there's a way around that. I don't always have my iPad with me but usually have my phone with me.

I'd love to find out that I can transfer my license from my work iPhone to my personal Android phone.

Apple And Google App stores are unique and take a piece of the sale. It?s unlikely there is a way to activate between the different platforms unless you can side load on Android and a different activation method can be used. That wouldn?t be the case for the Apple Store/IOS.

The switch is kind of a generic switch, it is available under different part numbers, depending on which items you have on your car. So if your car had front fog lights, the top switch would not be locked out, and would have the icon on the button indicating front fog lights. M2's don't have them. If you had a euro M2, most likely the rear fog lights are factory enabled, with the bottom switch activated, with a rear fog light icon on the button.

Got it. By the way, I did the rear fogs yesterday following your instructions. It's awesome to have a functioning button that was basically there all this time! I also kind of dig that "blank button" look.

Thanks!

Not yet.. The adapter just showed up a few hours ago.. Proceeding with caution; dont want to brick the ecu, or lose my Navigation, or other horrors Ive heard about. Probably start with something simple, like coding out the legal disclaimers. Then maybe radio off when doors open. Then maybe the big one: ASD. Ill post back when I find some balls.

Bimmercode is a great App! I have a series of backup files and wanted to offload to the PC. Being that this is an iphone I was using itunes to back this up but did not find that you could back up individual backup files from the bimmercode app. I'm a bit of a luddite when it comes to technology so would appreciate if some of you gurus out there could give me some directions on how to back up the bimmercode backup files. Thanks.

Tried to set side mirror to fold during comfort access and also unfold during unlock. After coding idrive has a message saying front camera disconnected? When I shut off the car and go out to use comfort access lock, the mirrors did fold but alarm came on! After disarming with fob and start the car, everything seems normal. Stopped car, redid the comfort lock and unlock, the mirrors folded in and out as expected. Did I screw anything up you think?
