Is This Normal??!

I WENT TO MY DEALER TODAY AND PUT MONEY DOWN ON A M2, THEY CALLED ME HOURS LATER SAYING THEY DONT KNOW HOW ALREADY I HAVE A PRODUCTION NUMBER. IS THIS NORMAL OR DID I GET LUCKY!?I CALLED THE NUMBER AND IT WAS TRU. THEY SAID A ALLOCATION WAS WAITING AND MY PAYMENT PICKED IT UP-BUT WHY DIDNT THE OTHER TWO WHO WERE ON THE LIST GET PICKED UP BUT I DID. NOT COMPLAINING BUT

I'll assume the shouting is because you're so excited

My guess is there is no list. The dealer just told you whatever to get your deposit.

I felt bad and called the sales manager to check it out, and you were right. it jumped over two people and somehow gave me it. crazy. one dude waiting since july 16, so i'm back in the line now: but i feel better about calling-if it was one of you dudes knowing how much we love cars and driving them,then now its my turn to wait.

Yessir, I kept a email from the sales manager and had him sign it and the sales rep also reassured me and wrote on the order sheet-msrp-no markup. Happy about that!!

what a terrible dealership. as someone who had to wait for over a year, i would be upset if that happened to me.

Someone on the list bail out, a lot of people get deposits on more than one dealer.

what does this have to do with the dealership completely skipping the queue for allocations? the whole point of a queue is that the first orders in are the first orders completed. dealerships should really have some integrity and respect for their customers, but alas, humans are terrible.

Yeah, this situation is super weird. Why would they completely disregard the list? Unless the salesman didn't realize there was a queue which is stupid on his part. Luckily I didn't have to wait for mine. I definitely couldn't wait around for a year or two like a lot of people have then find out the dealer is screwing me over.

I sat at work for a hour thinking the same thing, how and why would they let that happen. what if it happens to me too? Ill have to stay on top of the delaer now that this occured. After I made the first post, i looked at others posts like i do everyday and seen how excited people where after they waited a year even and called. i coulndt feel like guilty bro. i go on here everyday to sell sh*t, get tips and see exciting stuff. The sales man then called after I called the sales manager and apologized saying the system made a error. no clue how it works of if he skipped them on purpose but regardless, i can sleep at night knowin i didnt screw anyone over. its all good. ill get mine

Its hartford new country. That one in ridgefield is marked up. ALL set also with apple car play and that front lip. MSRP sound more like a deal i need my friend,not paying 59k and some change. ill wait it out
