Trailer finished. Taking a test tow to my track event tomorrow. Last one of the year. Still waiting for my track setup from Tire Rack (delivery this week?), so I threw on a spare for ballast.

Do you think it would fit on the M2 CS?

Don't see why it wouldn't. It should clear the exhaust. But it's speculation.

Awesome, thanks! On the top of the wait list at my dealer for the M2 CS and definitely want to use a hitch!

Where did you get the trailer? Looks like there are several options out there but not sure which to go with.

Basic Harbor Freight. Then added on what I needed for efficiency. http://m.harborfreight.com/1090-lb-c...not%20provided

Really cool set up, a couple of questions:

1) Is the wheel/tire inside the Bimmer Zone cover a spare for the M2?

2) How does the trailer 'handle'? I have a one axle trailer (not for cool track use unfortunately) and unless it is loaded down, it bounces quite a bit.

It was a space saver spare that I mounted only for demonstration purposes and sizing for my track setup that hadn't arrived yet. The trailer handled very well, but that could be a result of the weight addition of my addons.

That looks like a great job, but i have a couple of questions that i hope you can answer. 1) did you have to cut a clearance into the diffuser or did the hitch fit without modification. 2) what is the distance from the back end of the hitch to the back edge of the bumper. I would be most grateful if you could post the answers.

1) cut a small window in the diffuser for access. 2) 3" to back edge of bumper.

Looks good DrKevM5 I was wondering if someone was going to do it on the M2. I did it on the m235i and then my M4 with carbon diffuser. Not planing on doing it to the M2 when it arrives....
Did you modify you under heat shielding to keep most of it or just discard it. That was the most time consuming on my M4

One tip on this class of trailer, whether you bought it assembled or built the kit: The wheel-bearing grease they use isn't always the highest quality (or the bearings aren't adequately packed), so I'd suggest repacking them with a quality grease before you hit the road. A bearing failure on a tiny trailer at 70 mph is really ugly...

Playing devil?s advocate here, but what?s your plan B if they don?t get an allocation? Regular M2 or something else (pcar)?

I love this mod so much. If I start getting to the point where I want dedicated track / autox tires, I will totally be "stealing" this.
