Anyone know the quickest source for a black kidney grille? My dealer has ordered one but are saying mid April...the chrome is killing me inside...

Don't forget that most people are waiting for their car in mid april ^^ It's better to have the car than black grills

Anyway congrats for your car, it looks really like a beast

Black Grills

Company in U.S. by the name of IND has the outer black rings to replace the chrome ones and has easy directions on installation. The outer rings are the same ones for the 2 series. Good luck, and enjoy the "M"

Whats the RPM "limit" during this break-in process , 5k? Do they recommend you not to use sport in order to avoid temptation? hehe

Thanks Rogue. Im in the EU so I'll hunt down someone tomorrow that can deliver quickly.

Unreg my dealer said 4.5k. I'm trying to keep it in comfort and stay sensible but I'm in sport a lot just to hear it burble and pop

I love how BMW tell you to limit revs during break in period, but dealers let you thrash a new demo car. I had a drive in a brand new M3 and the dealer had no issues with me thrashing it through the gears with them in the car. I was well up through 7k RPM and the car had 75 miles on the clock! I only found out afterwards (felt a bit guilty).

Yes! This is a huge issue to me. How do we keep the dealers from taking our new M2s out for a spin before we get there.

I recently took a new M4 for a test drive with less than 1000kms on it and the salesman was very strict in making sure i kept the revs to under 4.5k, reduced my fun factor but i fully understood that this was going to be someone's elses pride and joy at some stage.
I guess it depends on the dealership & salesman as to how the car is treated.

I drive calmly for the first 100 miles or less then I enjoy the car. Have never had any issues whatsoever with any of my cars.

I personally don't get hung up on the break in periods.

Congrats Cam! Can't wait for mine to come
Would you be able to measure the depth of the tow hook? Looking to get a tow hook plate mount done before mine arrives.

Cheers!

I figured I'd jump in here since this was labeled as an early delivery by bimmerpost. I drove by the BMW emissions testing and port of entry facility in Port Hueneme last weekend, there is at least 1 M2 sitting in the lot waiting to be picked up by a car carrier to be delivered. I noticed the one just because it is long beach blue.

Does the M4 sit lower than the M2 or is it just an optical illusion in these pictures

It is a lot wider than a regular 2. My take on the M2 is it is a car for the track enthusiast. Anything that can get around a circuit as fast as an M4 with it's wild motor has to be special. An M235i will be a better DD.

Well congrats...you're a lucky guy.
Unless me....ordered mine in July 2015 (!!!!!), signed all paper to be sure to get it for spring. BMW told me I would be one of the first.
Now it turns out, Munich put my delivery back to beginning of October 2016.
Consequence: BMW is dead for me....sold my M4 already, others to follow.
Fed up with the way they treat 25-year solid customers. Don't deserve this.
Will take delivery of the car in October, put it on sale right away, even not drive it, and only say : und tchüss BMW, and never again.
Thought the 100th aniversary would be a special one.....indeed it will be!
