LOL it seems like some M3 owners are looking for some validation that their car is better looking than the M4 based on the OPs comments.....

Or they just want to see how the M3 fender flares compared to the M2 in real world....

Either way thanks for the review!

Thanks for the review.
Did any of you have a chance to record lap times in each car?

not sure how this is possible... there is a 60-70 hp difference there with near identical weight.
I didn't "feel" much difference when I put my foot down either. Actually in the lower speeds the m2 felt like it pushed you out of your seat harder (much like a jb4 135i).

The m4 accelerated faster. But it didn't feel like it did that as fast as you'd think from the numbers.

Isn't 0-60 difference 3.9 vs 4.1? Wouldn't say that was a huge difference maybe but agreed F8X have lots more power.

For a real quicker acceleration and higher topspeed you need far more difference in HP.

In reality the difference between a 300 vs 400 hp car having the same weight is not that big.

However when it is 300 vs 600 HP and same weight things will be quite different.

Nice impressions.

Though I'd like to hear from someone who doesn't have a preorder in for an M2.

OP did you get to run the cars with traction off or at least MDM? This would be a HUGE factor as the extra torque and power of M4 would be restricted.

This reminds me of owning a 98 Z3 Mcoupe and being able to pull E46 M3s despite being seriously down on power. We're talking 90+hp! Weight difference was part of it, gearing as well, but a shorter drive train probably also helped compensate for the delta in power.

My own sense and experience with gray is that it tends to look pretty blah in direct and intense sunlight, but great in reduced light situations, especially at night.

That blue is electric in the sunshine, for sure. But I'm more of a stealth guy, myself. To each his own....

If AW = white
And MG = grey
And LBB = craziness and lunacy
And M2 = craziness and lunacy

Then M2 = LBB

Don't regret your pick of an extremely common color on a special car.
Go with a crazy color. Go LBB.

(Although AW with black M parts, in Stormtrooper mode, would be my second choice)

Mineral Grey with black accents is going to look menacing as hell

For every color there are people who think the color is shit.

LBB: "disgusting green, way too flamer"

Black: "Hides the line, can't see the sculpture of the car, yuck"

AW: "Looks like an egg, MW would have been nice, this is trash"

MG: "Too common, boring and dull".

Get the color that you want, because there is no pleasing everyone.

+1. I would say enjoy the M2 owner review but wait a bit before jumping to conclusions.

Hey everyone, sorry for not being able to reply. Also evidently I have no idea how to multi-quote but I've tried my best. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Also I am not going to conclude the M2 is better than the M4 or vice versa. They are two different cars closely matched (they are from the same company after all), and if it were possible I would have both! You can't go wrong with either and anyone trying to come up with a conclusion that one is better than the other has a lot of bias. I am getting the M2 because of the price difference.

I think they both look good. The M3 has a lower bonnet line and appears a little wider where the M2 is a little more upright and narrower looking, but it certainly looks aggressive.

Thank you. No I haven't unfortunately, sorry I can't help you out.

Didn't get to drive to the limits of the car, so it never got to the point of feeling a lot of understeer or oversteer. They were never going to let us which is fair enough, we were all amateurs on a race track!

It definitely sits lower than than the M3/M4. Not sure if technically that is giving it a lower centre of gravity.

If you're a sucker for the fender flares, the M2 and M3 are your winners imo.
I still like the M4, but it's so understated from the side view whereas the M2 and M3 look properly aggressive. I did prefer the look of the M3 to the M4

This was going up an uphill straight. The M3/M4 have different engines with different characteristics and to me they felt quicker but again, only slightly. They weren't tremendously faster than the M2.

Throttle response for a turbo car was amazing. Power was always there and I never felt lag.

No, again we were amateurs on a race track. There was to be no racing/timed laps.

I was trying not to be bias with my review. I would get an M4 and if you have the money to do so, get one. The $60000 difference here was the kicker for me getting an M2. Simple. One of the guys there still wants an M4 because he needs a bigger car so I guess it is also down to personal requirements.

Traction had to stay on which was fair enough. Lot of guys were out of their depth on the track and I would hate to think what would happened if traction control was off. But yes I agree, the power was certainly restricted and after a few laps the road tyres were getting too hot felt less grippy. Mount Panorama is a long and punishing track.

I wouldn't say I am a star but I have done a lot of track work with my E46 M3. This particular track the public never gets to drive on (you need to be part of a race team). I want to go back and do more laps as it was an epic track. So challenging.

Considering how much we have to pay for the damn cars here, at least we should get something ahead of all the other countries

Don't think you can go wrong in either colour, but my last preference would be the MG. Go LBB, it is a nice colour. Don't mean to put you off!
