wake me up when I can steer using the accelerometer. Fact: I drive safer in GTA IV than your daughter does while facebooking.

I also use the app "TuneIn Radio" that I added SIRIUS mms streams to it so I can listen to SIRIUS XM SAT Radio live in my car via Bluetooth. Can't change the station from the cars interface but you can FF and RWD because the app caches the stream. It also has tons of stream presets built into it from around the world. Can't beat that for .99¢ |

This can only mean one thing... Higher insurance rates for me as more M3's will be involved in "distracted driver" accidents. There is absolutely no way anybody with an ounce of common sense can argue otherwise.

Society is becoming more and more dependent on being connected at all times, whether we like it or not. BMW is acknowledging that, attending to it and making it as safe as they can for drivers. If they don't keep up with ALL technology, their sales will eventually suffer. Yes, there will be minor bugs and things to work out with the new technology being integrated but it's a small sacrifice to keep the company in a progressive rate within they eyes of consumers and their demands. I highly doubt that BMW is focusing less on other aspects. Just because they don't "vastly" improve every part on a new model doesn't mean they aren't cognizant of it. BMW does a lot of things correct the first time, so it's hard to improve certain things EVERY year. BMW is still the ultimate driving machine. Don't hate. Embrace connectivity.

A lot of people seem to be missing the point here...
I agree, facecrap and twatter are BS and are not functionaliets one should be watching in a car while driving! BUT: thanks to this apps integration you get lots of other possibilities that will provide a huge added value and help for safety! an example: I currently run the Icoyote app on my iphone, this niftly little app tells me how many other Coyote users are driving the road ahead of me and inform me whenever one of these people report a speed trap. Having a shitload of these speed traps here in Belgium (the gouvernement need money) it's almost unthinkable to drive around here without a warning system. Now, imagine this app being able to integrate in your idrive, showing all this info on the right part of the idrive screen of even heads up diplay... that is what i call a great invention! |

Post-September 2010 builds support Pandora over Bluetooth, even without the 6NF/6NR option. Track controls, play, pause, are all perfectly integrated. There's no album art or track information, but I think that's the phone's fault, not iDrive. I'm using Android 2.2 on an HTC Evo.
