Well my SA told me the Carbonio plate holder would void my warranty...(and they are a dealer owned by BMW GMBH so huge sticklers).

Don't know why this is in a coding section but that doesn't make any sense.
The carbonio no drill plate holder makes no modifications to the car and can be removed without any impact to the vehicle.
How could this possibly impact warranty?

Its in the coding section because it was a reply to coding and warranty loss with an example thrown in of my dealer being anal with regards to warranty. Read the last couple of posts and itll prob make more sense.

The reasoning is that it would block too much airflow to the rads of the hungry hungry hippo M2C. In fairness it sits lower than the OEM one and blocks more of the opening. I have the oil temp gague up all the time and it does not seem to move from 2 ticks above 70C once warm. Car is only 1k km old though.

Fair enough.

Scanned the earlier messages but didn't get the connection. Not in the US so they won't be likely to see it but I suppose the BMWCCA grill badge would void warranty with your SA as well.

Remove the tag before seeing him/her for service.

When I tried doing this with BimmerCode, there was no Modus_FA_SLV option under 3000 SM_GLOBAL -> EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE (although I see it in demo mode).

I see references Modus_FA_SLV missing on some older 2015-era F30 ECU firmware, but I would have expected my 2017 F87 to support it.

If I don't see this value available, am I correct in the assumption that my firmware does not have this feature?

It does show SM 3012 EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS and SM 3012 EAH_SHUTZFREIRAUM_HINTEN_SLV_PHYS options however.

I'm wondering if I should just try setting 3000 SM_GLOBAL -> EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE to werte=03.

anyone know the approximate length of travel from full forward to full back. I coded it, but bailed when I noticed it would crush my rear passengers (kids). I then realized Poochie's comment about getting out of the car in tight places would make it useful for the seat to slight back about 2-3 inches for me. I want to see if I can bulld in a safety zone while still allowing my seat to move. Too far back and I can't reach the clutch or brake anyway.

3012 EAH -> EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS = Werte=00, 64

You need to change the 64 value. That allows the seat to go all the way back.

You'll probably want to start somewhere around 32 and go from there.

That's my thought 64 is hex for 100, so it will go back 100mm. My thought is to put my seat in it's optimal position and measure how far it travels to a position that seems reasonable for easy exit. The tricky part is figuring out the safety parameter. Space with seat all the way back plus buffer. I'm thinking about playing around with it tonight.

I'll report back where I land. I'M 5'10 and will frequently have rear passengers.

On the seat subject. Is there a way to code 1 touch on the rear seat button to send the seat all the way forward for easy rear entry?

Edit:. Used 00, 46 for seat rear movement, and 00, 4B for rear leg safety.

Not that I know about.

Could you set one of the two seat buttons on the side to go all the way forward??

My suspicion is that they should be codable if you know where to look. I don't know which module item are the seat switches. It makes it more difficult that I can't read german. The earlier M2s were coded with the one touch seat forward movement. I'm not sure why it didn't make it's way into this model. I wonder if it was in the M2C?

In the flip side it my be best that the back seat passengers can't one-touch your seat forward when you open the door.

The easy entry/exit for the passenger seat is kinda neat.

It can't be coded, it's now baked into the programming:

At least the option for 5 blinks is available in the coding for selection. I'll keep fingers crossed that there is an istep update on the horizon that adds the function. I think mine is a July 2020 release. I'm hoping the F series has an 11/2020 available.

It's odd that my car shows 3015 as EAH, not 3012. Regardless, same options when you select it.
