Question Coding - ID5 NBT2 Video In Motion

I fear I already know the answer but has anyone managed to find a way to esys code VIM on iDrive 5 without a) paying a Russian/crapitalist $150 or b) using unsigned CAFD files?

And yes I know I can set SPEEDLOCK_SPEEDVALUE MIN to: 1F and MAX to: 3F but this only works up to 39mph/63kph

If anyone would pay the $150, we could find out what he is doing, by comparing the data before and after the coding

Just a thought - I recall from the 2addicts coding thread that "disabling reverse cam view on forward speed limit" allows for a range of speed values to be entered in hex similar to the above.

One user reported that by setting the hex value to 00 he was able to leave the rear camera view on indefinitely.

So in your case for VIM I wonder if using 00 would effectively disable the speed lock all together?

Sadly not, been there tried that. Whenever you choose 'nicht-aktiv' under 'ausgelesen' you are in fact setting the 'werte' hex value to 00 so it does not matter which way round you do it the NBT2 won't take it. The highest hex value I have been able to get away with is 3F. The old FF values used on ID4/NBT does not work on NBT2 hardware

If you really want it there are people who sell the fix for $100.00

But if you have your car update @ the dealer you will lose the feature.

If script activated, then you do not lose with dealer update.

I do not know how it works. But it is specific for VIN &/or head-unit serial number. So, you cannot share solution with multiple vehicles.

*.bin file on usb that you load using port in center console.

Hey if you all are still interested in video in motion with no speed restrictions I can confirm that the next version of BimmerCode will unlock it. I was given the beta version of the app and can confirm full unlock. I think the $30 price is worth it.

That's what I paid for app. The developer gave me a beta version to test the unlock. I don't think he's going to raise the price. Here is thread for app.

It is i actually bought Carly first but no NBT support when I bought it so I bought this one. Developer seems to be a lot more involved with his app.

TXSurfer: Hey, I tried using the most current version of Bimmercode to enable dvdinmotion in my 2018 g30, but it only goes as far as to hold the idrive controller in the up position, then bimmercode says the idrive screen should display the option to turn on dvd in motion, but it does not.

Any advice, since you said it worked for you?

It was patched on newer vehicle software and no longer works with Bimmercode.
